Default d15b vs d16z6

pretty much same engine right? ive looked on some sites and seen 2 different redlines for the d15b. i got a z6 now but its about to just go. 276k miles on it right now. does the d15b redline at 8200rpm or 7200 like the z6?

thanx

i have a d15b and i love it
perfict motor for a daily driver IMO

redline 7200 like others have said because i just use a stock p28 ecu

i have both the d16z6 and the d15b and my z6 has more midrange power but my d15b is faster in vtec

all on flat ground or corse because either motors have any TQ

The Z6 is a 1.6L and the D15B is a 1.5L. Being that the 1.5 makes 5 more hp than the 1.6 and usually JDM engines are low mileage you're better off going with the 1.5 swap. You can use your same harness. My shop has bought every D15B engine from our importer and we haven't had a problem with any of the engines. I'd say it's the best bang for the buck.

You should post a video of your D15b redlining at 8200 rpm, I think it would be interesting to see.

Show me a dyno sheet of your current setup making power at 8200. Just because you're reving your SOHC VTEC to 8200 doesn't mean its making power. I can rev to 10k if I want to, but is there a point? No.

edit: Looking at your sig, it seems all you have is bolt ons. Yeah you must be making sick power at 8200 then

A D15B with stock internals does not make power up to 8200 ... sorry to burst your bubble.

I know you probably meant to say you can rev it to 8200 (which is still ******* retarded) but you replied to the making power comment.

i never new that but what revs will the springs take before they start floating. since the ecu is only letting me rev to 7000 rpm ,every time i push it and i shift, im left out of my power band which is really bad in a race!!!!

All you'll be doing is wasting gas putting a P72 in. You can probably get away with 7500 everyday, but why risk it, just rev to stock redline.

Which ECU?

Which ECU?</TD></TR></TABLE>did u read what i wrote. the stock rev limiter is doing its job and limiting me from winning. at 7000 rpm the shifts are bring me way out of my power band which is causing a big gap between my power band and my next shift so to accomodate i would need to rev to about 7500 rpm and 8000 rpm. u c what im sayin
