Default How do I take off my ROTOR? 1994 Honda Accord LX

Can someone describe to me in complete detail how to change out my rotor? I've had trouble with this for some while now. I thought this was one that would slip off after setting aside the Brake Caliper and assembly.

Not to be rude, but there is a search feature and a FAQ that you should have used before asking this. Just keep this mind for next time

To answer you question, go into the Accord FAQ stickied at the top of the Accord forum, go to the Brakes section and the first link is a tutorial for changing the brakes on 90-97 Accords.

Also, search and you'll find mulitple threads discussing this PITA brake setup.

the best way is to remove the axle nut (36mm) then remove the lower ball joint nut and seperate the ball joint and behind the spindle there is 4 bolts remove those and the whole bearing and rotor there are 4 more bolts on that and the rotor will fall off ... once you start taking it apart you will know what i mean .. its not hard at all

yep, I agree. Just keep in mind that sometimes it can be really rusted in there and won't come out after removing the 4 bolts. You can try hitting the back of the rotor to free the assembly from the knuckle but sometimes that doesn't even work. When I did mine on my 95 EX, they were so rusted I had to remove the knuckle from the car and have the bearings pressed out of the knuckle. Upon installation of the new bearings, I cleaned the bore of the knuckle and greased it to help prevent it from rusting up again.

No need to loosen any ball joints. The key is to have the correct tool like the post the guy have on the bottom using a offset wrench!!!!

Learn something new everyday.

If he's taken 5 years to take off a rotor there's a problem.

With the offset wrench, that's about right...
