Hit a Curb Messed everything up
ok 4th gen 92 accord LX. i live in the Philly area and we just had our first snowstorm/wintery mmix storm. so im going out to work and im goin like 30 and i turn my wheel to turn and it doesnt turn, so i end up hitting the curb on my front (right) passanger side. this is what the description is now. streering wheel is off to the right. strong pulling to the left while driving. before the wheels were like this / \ when look like from the front and now its more like \ \. Not that bad but just to give you the idea. When i drive the steering wheel wobbles. also there is a clacking noise coming from the front right side. so really at any particular time, but obviously while driving. faster speed = more clanking. also not everytime, but almost all the time after i start the car i have the pump the brakes once, sort of like when you change the brakes, in order to get brakes. and steelies is trash, i dunno about the tire. now i haveent taken the wheel off to look at it yet, but i have an idea of what neds to be changed, UCA, LCA, axles needed replacing anyway, tie rods, and crossmembers. if you guys think of anything else that can be bent please let me know. i do not know what tie rods and crossmembers are. could someone send a diagram pointing them out to me. also since i have another car my model, i will not be needing to buy parts. so i was wondering since my car was old and beat up and needed everything to be changed is there a way to take out the whole front suspention with the whole axle and strut/shock all in one? or do i have to take everything out peice by peice and then reassemble everything?
painful memories... I did something like that about 4 years ago in my 95 EX. Went into a turn at my apartment, wasn't going fast, got about halfway through the turn and hit some ice or something and slid straight into the curb. The front passenger rim took all of the force.
parts I damaged...
broken rim (broke a junk off the rim)
bent LCA
bent radius rod
torn radius rod bushing
possibly bent sway bar (replaced just incase)
leaky caliper (replaced gasket washer and it was fine)
torn rear beam of subframe (torn/bent where LCA mounts)
I did a lot of other stuff at that time as well like front wheel bearings, discs all around, pads all around, timing belt job and various other things.
In the picture below, part 8 or 9 is your radius rod, depend on if you have an auto or manual. Parts 13 & 14 are your radius rod bushings. Part 10 is the LCA.

In the picture below, part 7 is your inner tie rod. Part 11 is your outer tie rod.

In the picture below, part 2 is the ream beam of your front subframe.

In the picture below, part 1 is your knuckle and part 5 is your UCA.

My knuckle and UCA were fine but I guess if you hit hard enought you could do damage to them. I think I remember someone before saying they damaged their knuckle and UCA from hitting a curd but...
If you already have a parts car then your all set. I suppose you could drop the rear beam and front suspension all together but I would imagine you'd have to assemble it all in steps because it would be to big, bulky and heavy to assemble as a whole.
