Default Searched, didn't find anything...Tein S. Tech Springs

For those of you with Tein S. Tech springs on your car, are you happy with them.

Give me your overall opinion of them, and what shocks are you using with them?

btw, you dont want to use extended top hats with regular springs. theres no room for them. youll preload them too much.

i had them on my 00'..... they lowered the car about 1"

the ride was nice, not much firmer than stock....i had them on stock shocks....

I have espelir on my 02'.... they are a bit firmer than the s-techs and lower the car aout a 1.5"......

I live on the south side.

I think I'll be okay with the 1 inch lowering the Teins have, as I'm going to use Koni's with adjustable perches, so I'll be able to lower the car a little more, and that's why I'm looking into the tophats. If I have the spring perch set lower, then there will not be as much preload to worry about if I use tophats. I'm thinking I can get away with it, plus lower the car a but more, and perhaps get a slightly firmer ride than the S.Tech's would normally provide.

Any other oppositions to point out that I have overlooked?

Oh, and I'm trying to find a price on the T1R Driveshaft spacers, but the only place I've found them(a-jracing.com) has no price listed. Anyone know what I should expect to pay?

stech is a hair short of adding 100 lbs per inch

espleir is way way too hard for stock damper imho, and they are 1.3inch drop

you dont change spring rate or make the ride any firmer by preloading a spring, unless its progressive.

but the progressiveness of a street spring like s tech runs out quick and isnt going to get you what you are thinking.

Um, the shocks are going to make the spring sit lower than a factory perch...as the perches are adjustable. Therefore, it would take some preload out if I do this with a stock pillow mount. If the S.Tech's are anything like any of the other lowering springs I've used before, this will actually make a gap between the pillow mount and the spring when completely unloaded. The GC tophat will bring some preload back into the picture. Yes, it will be a little more than the preload if I were to use a stock shock and pillow, BUT there's no way it's going to use up all of the progressive part of the spring. So, being that it is a progressive rate spring, and I am going to need to compress it a little more,(prolly 1/2" or so, about like putting a stock spring back onto a stock shock and pillow) it should raise the spring rate, as the *** dyno feels it, by virtue of slightly more compression. Of course, I need to get in there and take measurements and whatnot to see if it's even feasible, however, I've lowered tons of Hondas, and if the S2000 is what I'm expecting, I think this little combo would work out quite nicely.
Then again, it might not work out at all...again, I need to take measurements.

I hope all that made sense.

Cliff notes:
Take a spring that's already sorter than stock
Position it further down the shock shaft than stock.(This creates slack)
Top hats make up for the slack, plus a little bit more (1/2 inch at most)

How can you not get this? How many cars have you done suspension on?

Either way, like I said, it may or may not work...I have to get all the parts in and take some measuements. I'll update you once I've done this, and I'll let you know if it works or not.
