So after all the wendys workers posted up their sexual obsession with vtec and the b16, here is a discussion about something more classy. Which engine combo would be best in a clean, OEM sleeper, that doesnt have a whiff of rice attached to it. AKA what is the most reliable engine in a honda.

After all the agression against these b16 lovers, and getting ricers all up in my grill on the way to work, i have decided to plan a swap into my vehicle. I have a 4dr civic ej8, with a d16y8 right now.

Without FI, which engines will be the most reliable, yet budget orientated platform? The b20z was on my list, however the sleeves worry me.

Please post up your fav configs which would fit perfectly into a sleeper i.e

B20z
b16 tranny with LS 5th gear, 4.XX final drive
XX pistons
toda cams
type-r exhaust mani w/OEM exhaust
Carsound highflow cat
skunk2 retainers/valve springs.

Oh and do you reccomend doing OBD1, or sticking with OBD2a/b?

I want a setup that will be strong, dont care much about ferrari power....this is a continuation of the b16 vs b18b thread...but without the ricers.

funny how retarded you must be, and yes i have a d16y8, thats OEM and what came with my car. I didnt swap it out for another 1.6
