Default My DA/LSVTEC Build thread!!! jihad on 56K!... ongoing build!

Guess I'll do a quick pictorial timeline here, and keep updating as I make progress with the build! I added some memorable pics from G2IC.com meets along the way as well, so enjoy (I hope!)

EDIT: UPDATED APR. 14TH

Pics on all pages.

Picked up the car in September '97, have to dig out my 4x4 pics from the boxes, will add when I find em!
Setting up the '01 BC/WA meet was fun:

Tossing on the Thermal 3" (plans to go turbo back then):

Hangin with Richie (IcEmAn):

Driving to MN, stopping in on the Winnipeg crew (2002):

Meeting with Mike and Darren (AsAsN, Integra_Pilot):

Getting ready for the 2002 meet (-=harookz=-, Integra_Pilot, Essence, and myself)

The meet (WA, BC, AB, QC rep'd 44 cars):

At the 2003 meet:

Re-creating the OEM lip from scratch:

March 04, replaced the exhaust, decide to stay NA:

En route to the 2004 meet:

A day at Integra_Pilot's place:

Build begins, Dec. 2004:

Feb. '05, picked up a P72 head from DAKey (Ky):

At the 2005 meet:

Started on the valve cover:

Then the first accident in Nov. '05:

But she came back better than ever!!:

Slowly accumulated parts:

2006 meet, back to where it all began (note shaved antenna!):

Cruisin' 06 to Cypress:

Headwork in 2006:

The much loved/hated change (test fit only, will start this part of the project in the spring):

Getting ready for the winter swap!:

Bumper, headlights off:

Radiator out:

Cross member, radius rods out:

Engine out the bottom!:

Empty bay:

Pushed out for a power wash:

Prepped for paint:

Painted engine bay, hood latch cable rerouted, cruise completely removed:

Manual rack ready to install, new inner/outer tie rods:

And where I'm at now, wiring the engine bay:

Progress today (29/01/07):

Tore down GSR manifold for cleaning, and thermal gasket installation when it arrives, port-matching the I/M to oversized T/B to come post-tune:

THE BOX OF OEM GOODNESS! ooohhhhh, thanks acuraoemparts.com

The carnage (o-rings, gaskets, every visible bolt, thanks to .J. for that little detail of inspiration):

Studs installed to replace bolts for oilpan:

Oil pump test fitted (missing the o-ring, argh!):

Water pump installed:

Tensioner and spring:

Thermo switch (forgot the damn oil press. switch!):

Coolant pipe and thermostat housing:

Thermostat:

Head ready to go:

Valve seats in:

Valve stems in:

Have some OEM parts to order here before I can toss on the oil pump/pulley etc on, will be focusing on the car prep here in the next few days, as work permits! Fuel injectors ordered today as well, top secret on that front! .

The build will be complete in May (engine anyways):
B18A block
USDM ITR 0.25 pistons
ARP rod bolts
mic'd/polished crank
balanced rotating assembly
Spoon drain plug/trans drain plug
P72 head, p&p'd
ITR intake valves
Skunk2 Pro valve springs, retainers
Skunk2 Pro1 cams
new ITR LMA's
stock P72 intake manifold
Exedy clutch
ITR flywheel
Endyn breather kit

Parts coming:
SMSP header
Crome chipped P72 ecu
Innovative billet mounts
Endyn LS/VTEC kit
ARP head studs
S1 trans
Quaife quicksteer kit
Outlaw gasket kit

Thanks so far to Tom @ Camp1320.com, Robearracing.com, ImageInMotion.com, Ron @ EngineMachine.com, NT Machine, P.A.R.R. Auto, Darcy @ Jonker Honda, Roy @ Happy Honda, Acuraoemparts.com, Tommy @ Kinetic Motorsports, Earl, Prostreetonline.com, and all the clean-*** DA's out there for the inspiration!

I finally picked up a winter beater this past Sept., that's why I can get away with the DA down for so long .. $500 EF FTW!
