Default A couple ground and wire questions.

First of all i need to hook up a Infinity Refrence 611a and a Infinity Kappa perfect 10.1 sub.

I want to place the amp on my back passenger seat on my 1991 acura integra.(2 door)
Has anyone done this before and how has it worked out?

I also need a ground from this location, Where should i put the ground to? What gauge should this ground be?

I have a 2 gauge cable to run from my + battery post to my +12v input on my amp, but the instructions say i need a fuse no more than 18" from my battery. How should i hook up the fuse? and what size? 69a?

One last question, what gauge of wire should i use to go from the output on my amp to the input on my sub?

thanks

First, which Kappa Perfect, 10DVQ or 10VQ, I know of no K/P 10.1

The amp needs only a 4ga power lead, get one of these fuse holders... http://www.scosche.com/efx.asp...PWFHI

one of these fuses... http://www.scosche.com/efx.asp...50WFI

two of these terminals... http://www.scosche.com/efx.asp...38RT4 but for a 4ga power cable.

If the amp will not fit under pass. front seat, the back of the rear seat is the next best place, use a seat belt bolt for ground, [under rear seat bottom] make sure you clean any dirt/paint off the floor pan for a good ground, [use 4ga ground cable] I would also add a 4ga ground from batt. neg.(-) to chassis ground.

Use at least 12ga speaker wire from amp to sub.

If you are going to use the 2ga cable you have, up the size of fuse to a 200A... http://www.scosche.com/efx.asp...00WFI
and find 2ga ring terminals, remember the ring terminals not only have to fit the cable they have to fit the studs on the fuse holder, I am not sure what the gauge capacity of the amps power and ground terminal is. 94

I thinks it might be a little bit older sub.

The 2 gauge wire fits in both the ground terminal and the power terminal on the amp.

The amp's maximum current draw is 69 A, so would i still need a 200a fuse? would that not defeat the purpose?

you want to ground you amp with the same guage wire as the power wire. and as for the fuse up by the batery, the whole point of that is not to blow under a load from your amp, it is there to blow incase of a short behind it (fire wall cutting thought the wire and shorting out)

as far as the fuse amperage, the fuse size up there is more along the lines of the guage of the wire, not what you are planning on running. since between your battery and amp there is some current loss.

what this means is you may be drawing 100A up front and your amp may only be seeing 50A. (extreme case)

i run a 1/0 guage from my battery to the trunk, and my amp is fused for 120A yet i have a 300A ANL type fuse up front.

also use an ANL type fuse
