Default Integra owners needs a GPS tracking device!

little while ago, I had a Avital 4400 security system installed as well as the Python 210 GPS tracking device. yes it was pricey but it paid off today! My daily driver is my GSR coverted to a Type R. Spent tons of money into the car. I dont have a garage here in NJ so side parking is my only choice. i wake up and car is gone. i must have slept through the notice call from my cell phone. immediately called Dir Elec for assistance and had the police track he car down in 15 minutes of call. 2 hours later car is found while the criminal was doing his thing. i did not personally see what happened but the officer told me the dick was caught with nothing missing. This is why I feel that everone needs a GPS tracker, especially with high theft rate these days. i dont have the car right now but was told the car was towed to a safe place.

EDIT: some of you guys wanted to know the cost. I paid only 550 b/c i had a friend working at the authorized dealer. Honestly it wasnt much of a discount but a little is better than nothing. And yes there is a monthly fee but I paid it all at one time in the beggining. they game me an option of 100 notification 200 and 300. also they had warrenties separate. they also let me finance it if i wanted to. i think every installer has a different package.

Awesome, I'm glad your car was recovered unharmed. I just bought the same GPS system a few weeks ago...now I just have to get around to installing it.

I had gps on my show truck from cilfford. Luckly I never had to use it, but I felt better knowing it was on the truck. I think I paid something like 5 bucks a month on top of what I paid for the whole system. I did the install myself because they wanted a ridiculous price for it. They said that the gps was warranted then, nor any of their other claims. But after building a full show truck I thought I was more than capable of installing a little alarm system.

Does anyone feel like pulling up that home-made "GPS" system thread someone made? He used an old cell phone and stuck it somewhere in his car and with a certain phone company he could call them and track the phone or something. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

But nice catch on the thief. Sucks to be him.

they were not referring to a GPS system. Just a GPS tracking device......

Glad to hear someone is going to have to pay the consequence for their actions.

Nice catch! But a Type R lookalike in Jersey will be hit again, and again, especially without a garage.

dannnng you are so lucky, but it is great to hear that your car is alright. My question is, did you ever get to see the thief? Do you know what is going to happen to him? This is one of those very rare stories where the thief is actually caught.

i don't remember who makes them but there is a company that makes GPS tracker systems that plug into your obd2 port under the dash. it has a brain that you bury in the car somewhere.....a small antenna that kinda looks like a small XM Radio antenna...and a ribbon cable with a T-harness. You basically pull out your stock obd plug...plug it into the T-harness and the other end of the T goes where your stock obd plug was. basically without going nuts and trying to bury boxes under the dash it looks pretty stock.. Some commercial trucking companies use these systems to keep track of their employees and their driving habits. online you can login and find out info like where and how fast she's goin. I'll do a little diggin to see if i can "track down" a link. Sorry for the pun....i had to do it

Good catch Glad to see someone spent the cash and have it pay off. Maybe this will put a end to that false stupied saying that if they want it they will keep it. Your price on the unit was a good price.

yah teh gps is definately worth it. Here in ontario we have boomerang company they have this feature that if the car moves without the Key Fob on board, the device will automatically notify the Boomerang tracking team, who will immediately start tracking the car. So in a situation like you where you were passed out sleeping as soon as they take your car they wouldve started tracking your car. costs more but thats a gooooood feature IMO

Awesome to hear!!! The Python units are outstanding and there customer service is even better.

Obviously I don't know your exact situation but for the Python systems:
Package 1 - 100 hits+1 year warranty=$100
Package 2 - 200 hits+2 year warranty=$200
Package 3 - 300 hits+3 year warranty=$300

There is <U>not</U> a monthly fee for any of these packages. I see you said you paid it all, but did you finance anything on the GPS? Cause financing would be different than a monthly fee.

When he said finance, I thing he means he could finance all the parts and labor. I offer the same thing but if your credit is bad the apr is high. 24.%. Now the shop could of put the packages under the finance charge too and sent dei a credit payment. But why do that. Shops out here do it all the time and customers end up paying 2k on a 1k soundsystem BUt hey if you want it bad enough you will do anything to get it.

By the way all of dei tracking system are all the same. Ie-python, viper, clifford, valet, hornet, avital and so.
