Cutting/customizing 94-97 Teg bumper? Anyone do this before???
I've been thinking about buying an extra 94-97 style front bumper for the purpose of customizing it... I really dislike the body kits available for 3rd gen Integras, and I like the 98+ front bumper (minus the 98+ headlights) but the conversion is expensive. In any case, I'd rather have something that few, if any, other people have (as long as it looks good). So, I was thinking I could get a spare bumper and start cutting/sanding it to my liking... cutting out that horizontal bar in the air dam, maybe reshaping the air dam a little bit, and maybe reshaping the lip a little too. I need to repaint my stock front bumper anyways, so this would be a good time to replace it with my crazy custom made idea (if it turns out well).
Has anyone else ever attempted this? It's not a hard idea to think of, so I'm sure someone else has thought of it before... anyone??? I'm curious to hear what ideas other people have thought of and how they turned out, as well as any difficulties along the way.

well i'd think you'd have a hard time shaping it to much seeing as its really thin material... and if you cut the crossbar out you'd have to bondo... which just made me think. are you just gonna cut out pieces and fill them in to your liking?
i thought about doing something with my 94 bumper thats i took off for my 98 bumper conversion. at one time i almost cut out the bumper to fit the 90-93 integra lights just to see if it would work.
i have my old '95 bumper lying around the garage from my 98+ conversion. i can give it to you dirt cheap if you take care of shipping. the paint is messed up b/c i bumped somebody and the paint didnt have the flex additive so it chipped. lemme know
I did it when i had my gsr, i started by cutting out the horizontal bar and sanded the plastic nubs down to where they were smooth, took me 2 hours and some patience with a razor and sandpaper. looked good too.. i eventually sold for a 98 front though
Yo, the integra looks clean, where can you get a grill like that and how did you make it fit, did you screw on the other side when taking out the bumper..
