Hey guys,

I just picked up ITR #1071 PY.

It is in perfect condition but I have one concers about my clutch.

what happens is when I press the cluch I hear a "click" noise. I was told that that has something to do with the lsd but I cannot find any info about this.

Can you guys help me out?

Is that the one from penn? If it was, you beat me out but happy to see it go to a R lover than a dealer. Either way, congrats!!

 

"Click" noise, or rather a "synching of gears" noise?

 

Congratulations on the buy, you'll love it.

It sounds like you're describing the noise a Clutch Slave Cylinder makes, every Honda I've ever owned makes a clicking or a squeeking noise when the clutch is engaged or disengaged.

No big deal.

Is it a 2000? I have 1070

 

on the front of your engine is a rubber cover that has some clutch lever guy inside of it.
have someone step on the clutch while you remove the rubber and see if this is where the noise is coming from. If so get some lube on there and your set. If not check the clutch pedal assemlby in and out of the cabin.

Even my S makes this "click" noise when the pedal is depressed. I'm not sure if it's the MC or the Clutch Bypass Switch that allows you to start the car with the clutch pressed in.

my clutch has a squeak which developed over time which occurs when the car isnt at operating temp. but it generally goes away

Yes the type R is from Penn.

It is in close to perfect condition ; )

and no worries, it has pretty good alarm installed plus I park it in a garage.


Unfortunately I cannot post pics because I'm on vacation now. I will post some after Dec 26th.

.....p.s. I drove the car from Pittsburgh to chicago (470 miles) and it drove like a champ.... I love it already................
