Default Buahahaha, new bike!!

Sorry, but i'm pretty excited. My screen name used to be slvrblckrdRC51, but now it's rdblckSV650S. I just traded my 01 RC51 with 18000 miles for an 06 SV650S with 1700 miles. It may sound like a dumb trade, but i paid 5800 for the RC51, and the SV has a few aftermarket accessories on it. I'm pumped. I've already got a kawasaki 636 shock for it and an R6 throttle tube. Let the modding begin

Oh, and the first thing i did was reverse the shifting

i would have too, but i use my bike for everything, and the RC wasn't cutting it. After 30 minutes on the freeway my hands are numb, and with all the stop and go traffic where i live i was tired of sweating my nuts off and overheating the bike. Now i've got a bike that will do everything. Plus it's got a huge aftermarket. I should have a GSXR front end by summer and an F3 rear wheel by april.

Plans you ask?I'll try to keep it short:
GSXR front end conversion with 954 clip ons, braided lines, R6 throttle tube, and CRG levers.
F3 rear wheel with +2 sprocket(520 conversion), wave rotor, and 170 tire.
636 rear shock
woodcraft rear sets
Leo vince high mount full system (haven't decided between Ti or CF).
PCIII usb
Either Renegade or custom air kit
And for looks, the factory chin spoiler and seat cowl.

I think i left some stuff out.

Gonna do anything crazy, like a 700 kit, anytime in the future?

i don't know. Stroker kits and what not are pretty pricey. I could get hayabusa pistons, but, i figure a few thousand dollars on the engine would be more wisely invested in making me a better rider.

thats crazy, with the exception of a few minor details that is exactly what i wanted to do to an sv if i get one. out of curiosity if you dont mind me asking, ive just started researching modifying sv's, how much will all these upgrades cost?

alot?
If you haven't already, check out svrider.com. There's a lot of information there.
Otherwise, check out ebay for alot of these items. The GSXR front end doesn't require much modification, other than slightly longer braided lines if you're going to run high clip ons. The F3 rear wheel needs a spacer kit that costs $35. The chin spoiler is freaking 300!

full fairing kit?

i'm not digging the half fairings on the 650S, but otherwise, i like SV's.

w/ the mods you're planning it will be a fun bike.

if so when you upgrade yours you should sell me the OEM ones.

oh snap, and when you get that leo v. high mount sell me your slip on too hahahaha i need used/cheap mods for my SV!

also, how does the slip on you have on there now sound?

may i suggest a gel seat if you use it for everyday transportation. also why the f3 rear and larger tire, won't it hurt your turn in. yes i know it will look better, i've seen it. i had an 03 sv, kindawish i never got ride of it.

....if you didn't already know svrider.com

My friend's SV has an F3 rear wheel and i love the feel of it. You may lose the squirelly feeling turn in, but you gain some mid-corner stability. Besides, after the 636 shock raises the ride height, and the GSXR front end lowers it, the bike will have plenty of turn in.

I think this is a very good trade for you. The SV is a great streetbike, and once you get the full fairing it will look like a true sportbike to boot.

yea i looked at the sv1000, but i just like the character of the little 650. It's plenty of power for everything i do, and i've only ever heard that the 1000 is a slightly more piggish version of the 650.
I'm actually not getting a full fairing, i'm just getting a belly pan. It'll look like this,
