from what i hear i preheat the oven to 350 shut it off and stick the headlight in there for 10 minutes and then try to sperate the lenses from the headlight. is that correct or is there some other way to do it???

and where can i get a jdm type r lip from??

^ that is the way i did the headlights in my ek... but 350 sounds a little much... i think i was around 200-250. Search in the archives... i have seen posts about it.

If you want a type R JDM lip... contact l0wboost on aim or even through ebay. He sells alot fo jdm stuff cheap.... good guy too.

350 is way too hot, i did 225 and they separated after 10min.


make sure to get as much of the old sealer out of there as possible so you get an even seal when you re-do it

 

Use a heat gun... it is a much safer way of accomplishing what you need to. This suggestion came from Bjorn at Customlightz who has done 500+ headlights.
