Im thinking about doing my door panel inserts with red or black suede. Post pics of your inserts and the type of material you used.

im guessing you just cut the fabric. Take off those molded screws no teh back of the panel. Some fabric glue to the back of the fabric. Walla walla bing bang your done.

The door panel is 2 pieces. There are these plastic screws that hold the 2 pieces together, but it looks like they are melted on. I put a screwdriver in between the 2 pieces and just broke the screws. I used red vinyl, and I just covered it over the existing material. Then used some self tapping screws to put the pieces back together. All in all it is pretty easy. I will post pics of my old Del Sol door panels later.

Here's a tip, use a heat gun or blow dryer to stretch the fabric when you are covering the panels so that it doesn't bubble or wrinkle.

I want to do this to my EP's door panels...

1. How do you guys separate the insert from the door panel?
2. Or do you just go over it while the insert is still attached to the door panel?

Personally, I'd rather remove the insert from the door panel so that I can wrap the fabric all the way around it... but please give me some tips!!

Please nobody post their pictures of their shitty wrinkled door panels. If you actually going to do it be sure to stretch it correctly and im sure you would benefit from using a type of spray adheisive.

its 2 pieces. Not sure of the EP ones but i know on others they are molded crews. Or like my S2k they are held with phillips screws. Just use a screw driver and some man strength to knock them loose.

Black suede. It's really cheap online for a decent grade. Like 20 bucks a yard at most, which you would only need one yard, two for eg's. Get some 3m upholstery adhesive and get both the martial good and tacky and the insert itself. I like to spray the whole insert that spray portions of the material as I work it down flat around the edges.
