i got 2 ten inch subs put in the other day. and the guys in instal told me of i wanna get more power out my battery to match the ground wire size with the power wire 4gauge wire.
is this an easy thing to do? is it even worth it?

A more important thing to consider anyways, would be your contacts at the chassis grounds. make sure they are free from rust, corrosion, and debris.
It is a good idea to match the flow of electricity with the proper gauge of wire... usually customary to match it with the power wire size. that is what I have always done with past stereo systems.

yea i popped the hood and looked at the ground wire.. it connects to a clip thingy to the tranny? its only like maybe a foot and a half long. should i ground it to sumthing else or keep it were it is?
Its not a hard thing to do at all... I worked on car electronics for about 4 years. Just buy enough 4 gage to match the link and change out the cable. It will also give you the opportunity to free it from corrosion along with your terminal leads. Also you can make sure you have a good sloid ground for your amp. All good for proper e- flow.
