Default B series in my 04 Honda EX?

Has it ever been done?

Is it a bolt in swap?

How much power can I expect from this chassis?

Any other swap ideas?

Search.

Here's a summary of what you'll find.

K-Series engines are your only viable option. No B/H/older D/F series engines will work.

so if you have your mind set on it, why are you asking us? just go ahead and do it.

If you think the K series is expensive, wait until it hits you in the ***** that nobody makes anything for the B-series swap for our cars and it's all going to be expensive as hell custom work.

mounts(have to make your own) and axles(dont know if 01-05 tranny cup out will fit in a B series tranny cup. will be your biggest problem. wiring i dont think wouldnt be so bad as long as you had a engine harness to go with your ecu.

Legality is also a major reason the K series is the way to go, at least here in CA.

Well, I hate to break it to you, but the B-series didn't start the revolution of engine swaps in Honda's. The Turbo City II engine was the revolutionary swap engine for Honda. Being swapped into older Civics, Accords, and even into some CR-X's.

Secondly, it's been done before... 2 times, and on the Zenki (2001-2003 Civic) chassis only, since the 2001 Civic is the ONLY Civic a B-series swap could POSSIBLY be legal on, due to the years that the B-series were manufactured.

Then, even if you work past all that, everything for the engine would need to be custom. Wiring harness, Subframe, axles, shift linkage, shift box, and much more. If you think 1,000 for the engine is cheap, you will pay a fortune for the rest, unless you have engineering prowess that rivals AEM's, because that's one of the 2 cars with B-series engines in them.

i disagree , wiring harness out of a B series car could be put in a 7th gen. as far as subframe goes , nothing a welder and few piece of stock couldnt fix. i mean you have to cut and weld front and back mounts in different spots for D17 and K20 , unless you get an RSX subframe. axles could be a problem , lol. shift linkage , youd have to convert the car to rod shifters , again , nothing you cant do with a welder and some steel or parts of a teg or civic Si. but i do agree that its just not practical.

I would have to say a b16a rated at 160hp in an EG chassis would probably make 450 hp in a Em chassis.

No, the wiring harnesses are completely different between the two. The K20 shares absolutely nothing with the B-series, so I don't see how that is relevant to the topic at hand.

Stupid ****? yeah, ok... so I want to see if it has been done before... I searched, and got nothing on it except for AEM and Garrett's blue Zenki EM2 that ran at the salt flats at almost 200 mph.

So I want to do something similar... ******* SUE ME.

I have the mean... I was just looking to see if anybody on HERE has done it, and could give me ADVICE on how to make it easier.

I didn't ask for asswipes to give smart asswipe comments, so if you have NOTHING to add... DONT ******* post.

Damn... someone needs to get laid... like.... BAD.

This statement right here proves you're an idiot with no common sense. If nobody's done the swap, how could anybody here give you any advice on how to do the swap and make it easier?

Oh, and we did give you advice on how to do an easy swap... We told you to get a K series. So stop posting on here and get cracking on that B series swap.

You asked a question that's been covered many times over in this specific forum. It's annoying. You want to ask a question that's been covered multiple times before and don't want smartass remarks? I'd say GTFO but it looks like he deleted his posts.

The only thing I saw reading this whole thread was B18C5 with trany and axle for 1000 bucks. I've never heard of that engine that cheap, unless it's been beat to hell and starved for oil doing it. That's a deal right there, but it'll take way to much to get it in our car and even then a nice type s swap will beat it every time.
