Default Redoing my Turbo D setup

Well since the weather is getting cold and shitty in Chicago, I decided to tear apart my EF to get an early start. For people that don't know i have a Mild built turbo D setup (cp pistons, eagle rods, delta cam. etc.) My head was so bunk and old (over 150k) and the valve seals were dead, i was burning too much oil. I have been picking up parts lately to redo my setup. My goal for spring is to make 375 + WHP on race fuel (110 octane).

This year i was able to get the car to hit 12.5 at 117 MPH on 16 psi. I spun the drag raidals 1st thru a lot fo 2nd. It was my 2nd time at the track. My goal is to break into the 11's after winter on a slick.

Plans for the winter include:
-New head
-Rebuild turbo
-Semi wire tuck
-Larger FMIC
-New turbo manifold
-Back door style
-Covert to OBD-1
-Dyno tune it on Race fuel
-Si trans
-GM 3 bar map sensor

Well here are some pics of some of the stuff i picked up so far in the last week.

Thats my EF

put away for a while

I pulled the whole car apart in about an hr and a half. I also have an SI trans to put in.

My lame *** nasty/dirty/wires everywhere engine bay. hah At least i got rid of the Fuse box already

I picked up a fresh A6 head pretty cheap that is all rebuilt with 0 miles off some cool *** local dude. Ima throw my Delta cam in there.

Its pretty fresh.

I cleaned up my intake manifold a little and ported it out a little. Heh

My ghetto mini wire tuck. (i don't care)

Old bunk *** 150,000 mile + head.

My bling wheel studs

I sent my turbo out today.... should get to AZ in about 3 days from me.

I picked up the shorty turbo manifold from straightlinespecialties.com. That place rules. Should be here next week.

just picked up a new seat today.

I will prob update how the install goes lot on this.

I posted this to get peoples opinions, cuz people think different then others and point out other good ideas as well.

Let me know what you think...Thanks

TK

Looks like it should be a nice build. You turned around that hatch soooo much. I remember back in the day when I was with dave mounting mack dogs on the hood and seeing how much air we could get with it over hills. Good times.

Post a pic of your turbo mounted on the block. I want to see how your oil lines goes into the pan with the turbo mounted so low. I have an oil line that is about an inch long.

Yeah that's what I was wondering about? Mine custom short places my oil drain right on the inlet into the oil pan.

Mine did also. I actually had another manifold made where the outside runners sat up a bit more which moved the flange up...bringing up the whole turbo.

I will once i get my manifold. I was thinking of putting my spot in my oil pan where redzcstandardhatch has his.. its under the crank pulley. I think i will most likely have to do that to make it work better. not a problem

You northerners and your winters... I tell ya...

The second you see a snoflake, you start tearing apart your cars.

Im looking forward to seeing the end product of your winter rebuild. And next spring/summer, leave the drag radials for the street and get some slicks for the track.

Heh i was really just getting sick of burning like a qt of oil in 2 days with the damn thing. Yea Slicks are on my X mas list with lenso's. heh.

My goal for next season is to hit a low 11 with this new setup on high boost. I guess it prob won't happen but you never know.

Haha, except for the rims even thats a high quality version of what it was. Although I must admit the mack dog added a lot of character to the car. Well either way keep up the good work. Maybe this summer Ill actually get to see the car again in person.

it was stripped so it was drilled and tapped with a larger thread.
