Default rmf and smsp header question

ive been going back and forth on these two headers for a little bit now, i just have one question. im worried about it cracking over the long run, due to it not having a flex pipe. just curious if anyone has put one in after the header or had any problems with cracking at all.. i just dont wanna pay a g for a really good header and then down the road the wear an tear on it from the motor vibrating and such causes it to crack...

the welds are so strong... I've seen pictures of one of the two totally smashed in the pipes all messed up but no cracks

both rmf and smsp strongly recommend that you run a flex pipe (its best to put it on the end of the header)

flex pipe is recommended. If it cracks and you are not running a flex pipe, it WILL NOT be covered, but you can pay him to fix it.

I believe Dave's headers are generally setup to use donut joints, which accomplishes the same thing as a flex pipe.

yea really im staying old school and keeping my name...i tend to lean towards the flex pipes myself...they seem to allow more play which is always nice with my exhaust draggin ***

That's right for any with a 2-1/2" collector outlet. If it has a 3" outlet then we go with a flex pipe since I haven't found a donut and flange set up. BTW, I've never had a H series header crack.

Are both of these headers still a million bucks or have they gone down in price? I want to try one on my Type-S to see what it does but damn, they are expensive!

They are worth every cent though.
Hytech is also set up with a donut joint.

is that the only custom header you have seen?

RMF, SMSP, Hytech, SSR all have top notch quality.

I got your flex pipes right here!!!

I remember reading in a mag that Hytech uses some kind of nascar designs in their headder. Something that aids scavenging. Suposedly patented and everything. Has anyone else heard that?

Oh, and I'm sticking with my user name for a good while. I like it, and I think it's memorable.

they are called anti-reversion chambers. And some people show disbelief in anti-reversion chambers because exhaust pulse reversion can be used to "pull" the exhaust once the exhaust valve opens. This is all assuming that you can time the reversion pulse correctly.

So...does that mean it keeps it from sending the negative pulse? I thought the name of the game was to take advantage of it? Maybe I misunderstood.

Jim Fueling has the design patent on the AR chamber. NASCAR doesn't use them. They work for low rpm engines.
