Default My first ever project car! 92 CX hatch rebuild

I traded my coupe for this. It was painted Harvard Blue (halfassed). When there is enough light I could see the red through the basecoat.

I plan to paint it back red. Not sure which shade, maybe Torch red. But either way this blue is coming off, and the engine bay will be painted black soon also.

There are a couple of other minor problems with it aswell.

But heres what it looked like before I got it:

It's getting stripped down for paint now..I'll be posting more pics along the way

I started sanding down the roof and found a little rust...apparantly some idiot decided to put silicon over it...I got it all out now

Just needs to be welded and painted over it will be fine

Was it originally HBP, or a color change?

It was originally red...Apparantly the person who owned it before me had it sprayed in their back yard..There is sand under the paint in certain places.

It just needs a little TLC and she will be good as new

strange that the car is two different factory colors. I would have just bought a HVP hatch if I wanted one, not paint an MR car HVP. Anyway good luck w/ the project.

well i really didn't want a harvard blue hatch either. the guy said it was "midnight blue metallic" but the paint code is the same as HBP.
