Gsr cluster in 88-91 crx??
Close enough ...
As for wiring, I'm not the guy to go to, OBDII means not to many old wires, so can't help you there.
Fitment, If you take off the 2 steel brackets located on the dash that hold the old cluster, and trim a little off one tab of the integ cluster, it pretty much a force fit. To stop rattles I put a screw through the under side of the old bezel into the top tab of the cluster that stick forward, and used some foam tape on the sides.

man, i did the complete dash swap and the wiring was the easiest part of the whole swap i got the cluster working by pretty much matching up the cluster wiring harness to the CRX wiring harness..

i'm pretty sure the GSR electronic VSS won't work with a 4th gen Cable VSS. i wired the SiR cluster in my 89 hatch..that cluster uses the electronic VSS rather than cable as well.
are you using an SiR cluster or the old civic cluster? usdm 4th gen civics have cable driven speedos, thus the VSS in the tranny (which reads by an input from the axles) is cable driven. at the back of the cluster, is a cable input for the speedo. in an electronic VSS, there is no cable, just three wires, a ground, power, and VSS signal. i wired the three wires to the back of the gauge cluster and it worked great. if you plan on retaining your cable driven speedo, all you have to do is put a cable driven VSS into the new tranny.
the pins in the back are the same for just about everything. if you have an SiR cluster, the little car thing on the right has different pins in the back..you have to cut and splice those.
I have a JDM V-tec cluster right now. But when I saw that picture, I wanted to try this. I got a JDM gsr cluster to play with. I already got the 2 main blue cluster plugs and wire left so I can bullet them. I got the pin configuration on cluster plugs if you guys need it. I'am going to put in tomorrow. Peace!
Here's a rough draft I hope I translated right from the manual. A couple not sure, but hope it's the same color. If the plugs are plugged in the cluster looking at the backside right side up. Start from left to right. You can tell by the blank spots too for reference count. The ABS Plug (small) I didn't translate.
