does anybody have a write up on how to remove the a/c out of a 4th gen srv or si whatever you guys in the states call them? I looked in the facts thread but could not find this info. help would be nice thanks
just remove it. make sure you wear a face mask and have plenty of ventilation...and dont have neighbors that are prone to calling the cops. because once the gas leaks it will spout out like smoke...and then the oil will drip too so make sure you let a pan catch all the runoff....
that or you can do it the legal way...which i don't really know how to do. go to a nearby auto shop and they'll charge you to "de-charge the a/c system" and you'll still have to remove the components yourself.

it depends on how much you want to remove
after you vent the system....
you can disconnect the lines coming out of the firewalll and remove everything in the engine bay.......just follow everything around and unbolt stuff
take out the condensor infront of the radiator
the pulley is on the bottom so you will have to remove others to get to it and get a new belt (37" 6rib)
If you want to be really thorough, you need to pull the dash off and pull out the black box that still has the lines attached that come through the fire wall
when you get this box out, open it and take out everything inside, then close it back up and seal up the open holes and put it back in place for the air to flow through
it's quite a job and saves about 35lbs total

If you do it...DO IT THE RIGHT WAY! DO NOT let it vent just into the air...Take it and have decharged the right way. They will get the oil out too...
your doing this for weight reduction? Just wondering because what i would recomend is like everyone else, get it "de-charged" at a place, shouldn't cost anything at all. Once there- simply unscrew the two lines that go from the compressor, unbolt the compressor, take off the compressor, get a new belt for just the pulley to the alternator, than take the ac fan off, or splice it to the other fan, or do whatever you want. I wouldn't recomend taking everything off- it weighs nothing at all *the other lines and what not*. That way if you get tired of your car and wish to sell it- simply reverse the process by installing everything back to sell it for a bit more, or if it gets too hot again or whatever. but yeah get it decharged- unless you have nice neighbors lol

ahhh, well i was going to remove it to clean up the engine bay. That really is about it. Weight is not a big concern. And a/c isnt a big deal to me. The summers where i live are pretty cool

Yea thats why i did mine it gives you alot more room to work too...keeps things simplier. And i never use ac anyway.

yeah im in south texas- we still need ac in the winter
. I like the look of removing the ac as well as powersteering, but dang haha. My powersteering is coming off soon so that should remove some clutter from the front.
