2000 DX Hatch, sway bar question
I have a 2000 DX hatch, with no factory sway bars on it. I was looking through my Helms and found out that the rear lower control arms are pretty much the same as the ones on the Si and have holes for the sway bar. My question is, is there anything i need to do to get a comptech rear sway bar to fit on there? Now, on to the fornt. i was looking at the Helms again and found out that i have no holes in the lower arms to mount a front sway bar. I was wondering if i bought some EX or Si lower arms if i could just simply bolt up a Suspension Techniques sway bar. Any input would be greatley appreciated. Thanks, Greg
yes..the rear you probably wont have any problems...as for the front...dx's suck....( i have one too..so i know )...but anyhow..you have to get the front ex arms in order to get sways in the front..I also believe that neuspeed makes a lower front tie bar...so thatll also help..
hey i hear the itr bar is better. and guess what i happen to have one for sale. i am selling it for 200 bux. and it is the whole kit, bar, bushings, endlinks, beaks kit. it is brand new and never been used or installed. just to let you know. email me at phatcivic99@yahoo.com
Does the ITR rear sway werk on my car without major mods? If not i'll defintley buy it, does that $200 include shipping?

the SI is just bolt on! but if you want to run a 23mm on the back go with the Comptech
as far as for the front i would recommend using CTR,SI sway bar 26mm .
the only thing that you will need front LCA ,forks ,endlinksand some bolts .

i got a front sway bar for sale... its a 22mm and it came off of my ex. complete with bushing endlinks brackets, you just need the arms i think. make an offer if interested asian_funk@yahoo.com

I got mine complete for $175, so that gives you a used price.
for a lil more u could just get a set of aftermarket swaybars. i know that suspension techniques has the front and rear kit for your car for around 250 buks and also provides more ground clearance than the factory stuff (its tucked up closer to the body).
That is the first i have heard anyone say there isn't ground clearance with the factory sways, i think that is a load of bs. I would stick with OEM.

I highly recommend the SI/CTR front sway setup over anything else on the market today.
I paid 300 for my setup, but it still needed the forks, but it did come with the CTR red strut bar, which I sold for 110 on ebay. Forks and bolts cost me roughly $70 brand new, so my setup was around 250.
175 is a killer price. But I am sure if you look around long enough you can find a setup at that price. the average should be around 200-250 though.

FWIW, if you go with the Beaks Quick-Swap EK kit (ITR sway bar & hardware + SRK), you're going to have to drill two holes in the subframe. No biggie, but it's something you'll want to be aware of.
s/t dont compare to oem front sway ,26mm and is all bolt in !
for the rear unless that you have the kit to run the 23mm itr ,i wouldnt get it .
IMO prefer comtech.

Also, If you get the Beaks quick swap kit, its meant for SI's, so the kit doesnt come with the SI endlinks that you need. But will can get those for you as well.
And I agree, the only safe (subframe tearout) rear kits for hatchbacks are the beaks and the comptech.
