My Zeta Products dead pedal install!
Alright, so I finally get the chance to put up my pics of the Zeta Products dead pedal / foot rest install. It was a breeze to install and can be done by even the most novice person in less than 15 minutes. All that is needed are the dead pedal kit, a 10mm socket w/ at least 3" extension and ratchet and your own two hands. I had an assistant, but she turned out not to be of much help...here she is...

Here is just the deal pedal itself. These white chairs where the closest light-colored objects I could find for some contract on the black. As you can see, very simple construction yet very durable. Made of steel.

You'll get a piece of non-skid material that has adhesive backing. I opted to use this and I would recommend anyone to do so that buys this product.

And here are the two pieces mated.

You need to start by removing the driver's side kick panel. I couldn't get any clear shots to show any of this. Basically there is a plastic plug at the top rear that needs to come out first. Once you remove that gently pull the kick panel just enough inward to pull it out of the rubber door seal. Once it is clear of that you just guide the hood release latch out as you pull it directly towards you.
When it is off it will look like so:

Take note of these 2 bolts. These are what you need to remove with your 10mm socket in order to mount the foot rest.
I recommend starting the bottom one first. You'll need to get them started with your fingers. If you have trouble getting things to line up, put some pressure on the pedal so that it sits flat on the floor. Once you get the bottom one started, hand thread the top bolt. You can use this one to pull it all together once you get it started. And as always, be careful not to strip the bolts.
After you get all the bolts tightened up, sit in the seat and put some pressure on the pedal. If you're sure you've got it all tightened down then lget that kick panel installed. It goes on in just the reverse order you took it off.
Get the hood latch release in its hole. Push it up against the side and then push straight back. Get the rubber seal back on the outside and reinstalled the top plug.

Here is a shot from my sitting in the seat. With both of my feet in place everything in natural and comfortable.

In closing, this is by far one of the greatest goodies you can buy for your Fit. Not only is the install painless, but it is a much needed addition to the car for comfort during driving.
Enjoy!
