Default iPod mounted in my Si finally!

Well, after always stashing my iPod in the cubby hole behind the shifter, always having to hastle to pull it out to change songs and such, i decided to mount it up right.

Bought me the Dice iPod Dock Cradle, and then realized it didnt come with a mount, so i picked up a iPod mount from Best Buy.

Decided the cleanest place to put it was...in fact, behind the shifter, go figure!

Anyway, here's the install, i've got it plugged in using a Ziplinq dock to aux jack hidden behind the panel, i'm pretty happy with it!

showing off my new Titanium S2k shift ****...thanks TRE_ for the hoookup!

lets not forget to mention that you can't just "quickly add" to a CD some new songs your downloaded

If my LX had an AUX jack.....Wah wah wah
Its sucks nuts that the LX does not include the AUX jack, I pretty much abandoned ghetto-rigging it.
Your set up looks hella clean though

blue rocket,

i had a belkin ipod holder that sat in the cup holder... it broke. your installation looks very clean, and i'd much rather not sacrifice one of my cup holders any more so i'd like to do an a set-up similar to yours, but i have a couple of questions that maybe you could help me out with.

1. how exactly does the dice ipod cradle work, i've looked at their site and it doesn't show how the wires (12v-power, video, audio) connect to the cradle.

2. which ipod mount did you purchase from best buy? i dropped by the other day and they although they had many, they didn't have anything like the one you have pictured. how does it attach to the console? (drilled maybe?)

thanks for the help

1 - the Dice cradle is basically just a dock that you slide your ipod into...in the back there is a doc connector output as well as a AUX jack. I bought Dock/Headphone jack cable and used that to wire it up. If you want you could buy the factory honda iPod connector...but what i have sounds great (since using the Dock connector means you dont have to turn the volume up on the iPod to hear it on the stereo!).

2 - i bought this one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...78886

The instructions want you to drill it in, but honestly pushing it in where i mounted it ended up being so tight i left it like that, i was really too lazy to take the dash apart for it. So far it's in there light a rock and hasnt budged yet!

Hope that helps!

Blue Rocket mentions it all above, but it's basically three items. You need the Zip-Linq cable, the bracket (the steel braket only!) from the Bracketron kit, and of course the Dice Cradle.

I've had MANY i pod holders through out the life of my old (stolen) CX Hatch (RIP ) as well as my new SI. This one is far superior to all of them. In a great location, and sturdy as hell.

I bought all of my stuff through ebay, hopefully the links below provide some help.
