I am considering RHD conversion on my swapped EF. Are there any shops that SPECIALIZE in this? I have heard that the EF is the most labor intensive for the conversions of all Honda chassis codes.
There is a guy on http://www.importatlanta.com that has done 2 EGs, and a DA and is up for the challenge. But he does not own a shop, and works out of his garage space. That's no issue, a lot of people do that. But if there are shops that SPECIALIZE in this then I want to field a few questions for 'em.

theres a few who've done it.
i dont mean to be jerkish but search with archive on, theres a few project threads with people whove done it, but you have to Private Message the person when you find the therad.
the reason for that is a lot of people on here think the convertion is a waste of time and money so many of the project threads never get updated on this forum bc of all the hate.
personally i do think its a little silly since it wont have the proper vins and REALLY be the real thing. and drive through everything is LHD in this country, kinda silly at the taco bell window or the atm or pretty much anything.
but some people love kit cars, like a pontiac fiero that looks like a little lambo diablo. itll fool some people so if thats what you're going for, then rock out.
95% of people on here would wonder why the money didnt go under the hood, is what im saying.

Yeah - I have never been one to respond to haters so no worries there.
Being a hater is a full time job, b/c everyday there is just more to hate on. I already have a full time job, so I do not mind the haters... I'd hate to "fall in line" w/ what everybody else is doing and take away work from them. LOL. I also have never been a drive-thru junky so no worries there either. LOL. My SLOWEST car is a 1g CRX w/ a fully bolted B16 swap + cams + Hondata s200b. Not breaking any world records w/ that one, but that answers the question about people wondering why not put $$ under the hood. I have a 242WHP ALL MOTOR Spec V to get my speed fix, even though the 91Si that I am considering the conversion on is not your grandmas Civic.
Funny how people who have NEVER driven RHD say they suck - I was stationed in Okinawa for over 2 years when I was in the Air Force - I think that's all I have to say about that. I was basically wondering if there are any shops that specialize in it... that's all. I have a few buds who have done it in ATL, but I LOVE "liability" --> so I like dealing w/ sops if I can.

** smiling ** So RHD ruins a car? Wow. Now I understand why you would buy a "ruined from factory" RHD SiR and convert it to LHD. The world will be a better place for you "saving" such a ruined vehicle. Here is a new business logo for you:
"CRXGATOR Conversions: Un-ruining the world's SiRs... 1 LHD conversion at a time."
--> You offered nothing to this thread. Unless you know of a shop that specializes in it, you're wasting keystrokes. Unless you have done it, or can offer more than your raggedy s$$ opinion (which you ARE entitled to do) then you can go back to work at Hater Inc. I am sure your smoke break is over. J/K man... kinda.

For starters you're afag just for asking. Go buy yourself an opinion first.
Then come back and say you're actually doing it. Instead of askin if you should. Or actually...paying someone else to do it for you.
Second sign of fagdom. Bragging about somebody else's craftsmanship.
Finally, you're complete and utter turd if you're actually going to molest a perfectly fine car. For what? To be "original"? bwahaha...talk about falling in line.
But hey. You'z cool rite? Makes hollerin' at dem bitches easier I guess. Your loss.
We just gained someone to make fun of.

Man, expletive that. Do what you want.
Why'd you buy the car in the first place? To make it your own, right? Would making it RHD be something you wanna do? Make it your own car. Do what you wanna do; bulid it your way. But spend the time and do it yourself...
Liability from a shop? Again..forget that. Building cars is about trial and error...have fun, experiment, and besides, you've got another car to drive if something goes wrong or the project goes overtime, right?
Forget what everyone else says. Build it your way, and do it the way you wanna do it.
Good luck to you with whatever you choose to do.

The last time I read a RHD conversion thread, it was from a guy who completed it. He said he liked it (who wouldn't say that after doing the whole conversion), but mentioned that left turns are difficult. Think about making a left turn with a car facing you. You won't see anything and have to wait for yellow lights all the time. I think this makes RHD dangerous here in the states (especially if you're in a busy city)
people say it is a waste of time. i like working at my car and when a big project like that is completed you have real good felling abou it and love it.
thats why i like working on my car. Who cares how long it takes.
i hope to see you complete some time in the future.

Have you driven any RHD cars?I live in Canada where its legal to import RHD JDM cars and have friends with Fairlady Z's,Skylines etc.RHD blows *** to drive and kind ruins the fun.I'm trying to be polite but why do you want to do this? What is so great about having the steering wheel on the other side of the car?
I will be the first to admit that left turns are dangerous
Don't mind the harsh comments. You asked for opinions and got them....some are a little too much but, then again its only opinion. Pay no mind. Some folks get a kick out of it?

I will try to adress as much as I can in 1 post.
** SETI20 - if I'm a *** for asking, then you are a bigger *** for offering your raggedy-a$$ opinion. I guess I put my "*** trap" out there and caught you! I think you misunderstood - I am not ASKING any1 of I should do it. I was asking for opinions as well as shops that specialize in it. As far as bragging about some1 else's craftsmanship - THAT was the dumbest comment I've heard in a while. Nearly every1 who has built a project worth mentioning has leaned on some1 for help, parts, advice, etc. Can I wrench with the best of them? You bet. When I was in the Air Force and pretty much broke I had no choice. I was one of the 1st to swap the H22 into the CB7 on accordclub.com, superhonda.com and hondasociety.com (yeah, I'm old school). All done by me w/ the exception of cutting, relocating and welding the tranny mount. (NEVR2LOW is my screename - search the archives genius). I have had my share of getting greasy. Guess what - NOW I have a career (vs just having a JOB) and I have the freedom of choice - my pockets aren't the least bit nervous. I can CHOOSE to wrench or I can swipe some plastic and say call me when it's done. THAT'S where I live now at pushing 30 years old. And for a project like this, that's likely the route that I will take. I have always enjoyed driving more than wrenching. As far as "molesting a perfectly fine car" - WHY ARE YOU ON HONDA-TECH?? LOL. That's laughable at best. As far as originality is concerned I could care less - I do the things that I want to do. I have a 242 WHP Spec V (by the way, which is the most powerful unsponsored QR25DE powered NA Spec V in the nation), a $9k engine build when there are guys strapping on the Turbonetics kit and getting 309whp for $3k. I do what I want, not to be kool... not to fit in, and not to be different - simply b/c I want to and I CAN. By the way - I do not "holler @ dem bitches"... the bitches holler at me.
** CRXGATOR - obviously the LHD comment in my response was over your head as well. I guess we are even.
** JOKERTYPER - props on a well thought out response. Thumbs up. Yeah, the shops I work with in ATL offers liability on most of their work. It's not as hard a thing to find as you'd think. Yeah I have a few cars to drive when some are down... no worries there.
** andrey320 - I drove RHD vehicles for over 2 years. I am well aware of the challenges. I think it's DEF dangerous for some1 who is not used to it. When I 1st got to Okinawa I didn't leave the base for months b/c I wasn't sure I was ready. But after driving in Incirlik Turkey for over a year, Japan was like a joke. LOL -->TRUST ME - it's GOT to be easier than that fiasco. LOL.
** pgmatt - I do not think there is anything so "great" about it. Nor is there anything so "bad" about it. It's either your bag, or it isn't. There is a lot of "fluff" in the responses... quite simply it's either your thing or it's not. My mind is fairly made up on it.
As far as the name-calling and harsh words... it's pretty uneccessary. I simply wanted some opinions, and some shops tossed at me that specialize in RHD conversions so I can field some more questions. I choose my battles, and other than what I have already said I will ignore anymore negative energy. Be easy,

A friend of mine wanted a rhd crx... he was cheap and we just kept his lhd firewall, and drilled holes in it. The clip was 350 bux, and he sold the vtec contoller, and mugen pedals that were on it for about 350 ish... So it was free for all the pieces he needed.
It turned out clean for the way we went about doing it... Its his car, and he wanted right side drive... Its not my car, its his, so his decision. I think it turned out decent, and it drives nice.
If it were my car, I wouldnt do it, but whatev
