Yes and no. I've tuned several 600whp hondata set-ups with the OEM dizzy's no problem. So I was just verifying these dizzy's are as capable as the OEM's.

I will say i bought the Dizzy King one on my car now about 2 years ago, it worked fine but when i turned up the boost on my new motor it would start breaking up at 350whp, i put a 6AL on it and its worked fine ever since.

The Dizzy King isn't so great compared to OEM. Had a few bad ones come through the shop. Go OEM, spend the money once, instead of twice.

Yep. Unfortunately I ordered the dizzy king one yesterday in order to get this car back up and running asap. We are going OEM though and returning the dizzy king one.

Better safe than sorry Thanks for all of the replies.

I made over 650 and havent had any problems at all with that dis king distributor and msd wires. after a while I reved the **** out of the motor at the track and it was giving me a check engine light so the guy sent me a new distributor for free.
and its on my car right now.

people run old plugs or the wrong gap with shitty wires...if anything you can add a msd hvc coil to it which i have sitting there and havent had to put on. but a 6al box doesnt do anything at high rpm so I really dont think that solved anyones probelms

Had nothing but problems with Distributor King distributor. Took it off. Replaced it with an OEM distributor. Ran flawless

I took a distributor king distributor apart recently. Nothing was OEM inside. Not coil. Not ignitor. The connector wires even had a noticeable different feel. I didn't take any of the reluctor sensors out, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are different too.

Dont run a Dizzy King distributor with the AEM EMS, tons of timing errors with the pickups. I went through 4 of their distributors all had the same issue but at different RPM points.

Also beware that Honda no longer sells a complete factory distributor. You have to buy it in parts. So if your able to purchase a complete assembled distributor from Honda then its probably a Dizzy King distributor like Jdogg said.

You are much better off replacing the coil and ICM of an OEM distributor than going with a Dizzy King peice of ****. However I have heard Dizzy Kings work well with stock ecu's/hondata.

I made close to 500whp(482) with a DK dizzy. No problems at all. I gapped my plugs to .025 if that helps.

Ask what engine management those guys are using who have positive things to say. I bet its not AEM!
