Default Project: 12 Sec Daily Driven DSM

Well, after purchasing a house and getting rid of a few vehicles...i'm finally able to start on my 91 gsx. The goal of this car is to make it a fast, reliable, easy to drive second vehicle with cold ac and somewhat soft suspension. Every part on the car will reflect what i've learned (or failed to learn) from screwing around with dsm's over the past 3-4 years.

I'm also including a price list to help illustrate what this costs.

I purchased the Tan Car for 1100.
I purchased a Parts Car for 1100. (came with motor, transmission, shocks/springs/exhaust/downpipe, supra fuel pump)
4bolt Rear: 275
extreme PSI FMIC: 850
shep tranny: 1800
Twin Disk Setup: 700
New Brake Pads: 100
New Rotors: 100

Total Price So Far (a few things i've yet to buy...but will)
~6000 Dollars

Current Plans for the car are as follows...with a brief description why...

Good Condition 4g63 (stock rods, stock pistons, new headgasket, new belts)

Shep Tranny (most likely a stage 3 with 4spider center differential)

Quartermaster Twin Disk (pedal feel is softer than ACT, more forgiving)

2inch lowering springs, Tokico Shocks (from the parts car i purchased)

2.5 inch downpipe, 3inch exhaust (enough to make 350-400whp)

Evo3 16g (will make 350hp at 20psi)

Extreme PSI FMIC Setup (fits well, reasonably priced)

4bolt rear (stronger than the 3bolt rear)

Twin Piston Front Calipers

here are a few pics...

I usually hate DSM's, but looks like you found a gem. Clean interior, clean paint, and it hasn't been molested by high school "tuners" yet. Good luck with the build.

That 1G is so fuggin clean! And the leather interior is spotless! My driver's seat is all tore up from wear and tear.

Looks like a nice grocery list. Don't forget the fuel system.

Here's my winter beater:

and the car is super clean...was owned by a girl in melbourne fla...she kept good care of it...but failed to keep oil in it...so the stock motor is toast.

here is a pic of the other side of the car...

haha

as far as the color...i wasn't sure about it...but i've gotten used to the tan after having the car for 5months in my storage unit at work.

with the right wheels and lowered 2 inches...i think it will look ok.

and the roxy sticker is gonna stay for awhile...i think it will make the car look like your average daily driver.

just installed a 4bolt rear...friend of mine did most of the work.

i was busy taking pics...and ended up selling my 95 gst to someone while the 3bolt was out of the car.

with a shep tranny, twin disk, this car will be reliable to 500whp.

and a pic of mike's jdm lancer...and a link to more pics.

Shocks/Springs are installed. (KYB Adjustables, H&R Springs)

Also installed a 3" Thermal Catback exhaust. (i painted the muffler black to attact less attention)

Here are a few pics. (put talon wheels back on the car...for now...i think they look better.)
