Default looking for an hidden antenna

i am looking to get a blockoff plate for my 99 ex, but i dont want to lose radio function. ive been searching for a hidden antenna, but so far the only one i have found is this:

http://www.basspro.com/servlet...src=1

is that the right kind? or more specifically, is that the kind that you would use?

I'm running a Metra Hidden Amplified Antenna with my blockoff plate.

You will need to ground it (visor screw) and wire it to a 12v wire (the power wire for the radio).

i assume then you have it mounted above your rear view mirror? do you have any pics of what it looks like? also, is the reception good?

It does mount above the rear view mirror. The reception is excellent. I don't have pics of it on my car, but Draggin99Si has pics.

See, you can't really see it from outside the car

 I want

Looks clean and I get crappy reception with my aftermarket radio as-is. Good luck to OP.

It is not my car, but it's shaved on the car in the picture. I do however have a blockoff on my EG. This is my car with the hidden antenna and blockoff plate.

i installed the metra 44-UA200 antenna as well.. the reception is better than stock, just make sure you get a good ground connection.. i like the way the red LED lights up when your radio is on

it's very easy to install, just 3 wires to hook up, the 12V power that goes to your headunit, the motorola-style antenna plug also to you headunit, and a ground lead

can't really see it from the outside.. you'll need to get really close

would it be possible to install it in the rear window instead? It seems like it would be a little distracting in the windshield, esp with the led.

Nope, just remove one black screw to allow you to pull down on the liner.

It isn't distracting, but the cable isn't long enough for the rear windshield.

I just picked one up today from Circuit City for $15. If you want, I can try to do a walk-through and let you know how it works out

Is the reception better? Or is it just for looks? My car gets bad reception with my aftermarket deck.
