Default The END ALL flow chart comparison between p72 and pr3 heads

Lately I have seen tons of mis information on here about heads and which ones flow better than others. Well here you go, this is flow chart comparing both a p72 (GSR head) and a pr3 (B16 head). I am not here to argue about which one is better, I simply posting information so take it however you wish.

I already posted that in this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=2

It is good information, though.

I sure hope so. If I hear someone say the B16 head is better than the GSR head one more time, I think I am going to scream.

that is exactly the reason i thought i would dedicate an entire thread to this. So now everyone can base their replies off of facts instead of, "oh my homeboy said this...."

So with the numbers so close, is there really much difference. I can see the b16 is more linear, but the GSR ends just a bit higher. As they seem to be about 2(CFM?) different along the chart.

And if I would say the sky is green, would you believe me? They are both good heads, no doubt, but saying one is better than the other is like saying an apple is better than an orange.

Here is a bench flow test done on both heads. As you can see, the GSR has better flow at low and high rpm and the B16 flows better in the midrange.

Here is a direct comparison on an ls-vtec build between the two:

Blue: GSR
Red: B16

Now it is your turn to show me that the B16 head is superior to the GSR head like everyone is saying.</TD></TR></TABLE>

What were the engine specs for the dyno plots and the flow tests (were intake manifolds installed for the flow test)?

Yea, I was one of many Dartanian corrected on the better flow. Thanks again man... but another guy on HT going by bambam wrote a LS/V how to build thread and he talks about how the GSR helps ward off detonation with help of quench pads. Is this true? Sorry for being somewhat off the thread topic...

but it seems like everyone is forgetting compression? the B16 head will raise the compression correct? if ur goinng for boost it really doesnt matter to much unless ur going for 11sec or better. N/A that motor would theoritcally be stronger because of the higher compression with very similar flow!

No.

P72 head combustion chamber volume: 41.6cc
PR3 head combustion chamber volume: 42.7cc
Source: http://www.c-speedracing.com/h...c.php

The P72 head will have a higher compression ratio.
