88 CRX Hf with H22a
I posted this in the hybrid forum... and got no help..
Im prolly goin to be goin with a h22 in my Crx.. ive heard very lil about the h22 in a 4g.. bad and good...
Ive heard of the uinderstear problem.. is it really all that bad??
I plan on geting 4 wheel GSR conversion for brakes... so that shoud solve the braking problem..
also... i wanted some opinions form anyone whos accually done this.. for strengthing the suspention in the front and making sure the axels are right(broken axels suck)....
any info on this swap is greatly appricated....
search came up with very lil info...

it can be done but it will be mainly a drag car, with all the weihgt in the front it will be tuff to autoX. I have even seen H22s and H23s in 1st gen crx's. As for suspension I would get a good set of Koni's and some nice coil overs.
b20 vtec....I dont think Id ever put that much weight in an ef. I just did a B18b swap and I can tell the difference...I can only imagine adding a bunch more weight...I dont think it would be a daily driver.

I have heard that you need to bang out your firewall a little bit, so no fan blower, you'll have to take all that out, plus your gonna have to do a lot of fabrication..
its expensive, your better off going with a crvtec setup with pistons and rods, gsr head, lsd tranny.. yadayadayada
h22 is a big motor, also you will have to raise your car back up to stock height to clear the oil pan
good luck

i have custom welded mounts........you may have to move things but you definitly dont need it to stock height my car is really low and i only scraped the oil pan once when i hit a big pot hole.... i wasnt looking carefully enough but it happened,.......dont listen to people who dont have the swap its a great car that pulls very hard go for it
Yeah, I wouldn't listen to anybody here unless they've actually done the swap. Everybodies like "understeer this" and "stright line" that, but really, I don't think it would be as bad as everyone says. When people talk about the problems from the swap, 90% of the time it's from heresay only. If you got the flow then go for it!
Is there is a real bad problem with the steering? I like my LS a lot and whould never try a H22 in my ED. But I have a friend who is wantting to try it. SO I would like to know.
I'm actually also doing a H22 swap into my EF, but I'm using it for drag, so.. steering won't be an issue for me.. Got some pics.

95 Prelude DOHC VTEC H22A1 motor setup w/55K miles, Portflown head w/high rev valve springs and Ti retainers, Type S cams, STR cam gears, Apex S-AFC, modified ECU, Integra OBD 1 harness, hydrolic clutch setup
its just as strong as the other side you just can't see because the intake is blocking it.....there is a few spots on the side cut and re-welded to make room also a hole cut to let the cai down for air
