fuel cut off switch, better alarm, club, pedal lock thing, just about anything you can buy will help, but nothing will stop the flatbed.

just out of curiosity, how many cars that have been stolen have been stolen by flat bed? I always hear people say that all secuirty is pretty much useless if thieves are going to flat bed your car, but how many people have really been victim of the flat bed?

Depends how much you want to spend.

Some of these people say these layers are useless but if you don't have the tools or the knowledge, you can't remove the layers.

Club (Or even the Disclok from UK )
Autolock
Lo-jack with Early warning
Boomerang
GPS systems
Clifford Black Jax
Compustar alarms

The link everyone usually links to:

http://www.team-integra.net/fo...ion=1

If you are afraid of being stolen by a tow truck, various GPS options are available. Lo-Jack Early warning will help as well.

Plenty, peoples cars get stolen all the time with fuel cutoff and good alarms and rerouted hood latches...obviously thieves for lack of a better term are doing something right.

I agree that all of these above will work. But the cheapest and most common form of anti-theft (imo) is common sense. Don't park your car outside at night. Never forget to lock your car, even if it is in a garage. Etc...

no matter what though, if a thief wants it, your car will be a victim.

what has the honda enviornment turned into. i cant believe how many threads there are about security, which alarm is the best , how to stop thiefs.

im trying to protect my car to the max but it seems like people with a even better security system than me are still getting there cars stolen.

as much as i love honda and my integra
i dont think its worth it to build my car and getting it stolen.

*im not leaving this scene though.you must be crazy*

Smartest thing I heard all day. This is the best info in this post. But it all matters on how much you spend. Is a 200 labor install going to protect your car. Yes and no. It depends on the install and whats installed. To really protect you car look at atleast over 400-900 labor depending on what is done. And have it done at a high-end shop or diy and don't be lazy.

Not true. If you have a good install on your alarm 95% of the time your car will be parked were you left it. You really never know how many times your alarm actullay saved your car from possiable theft. Dei say %40.

My customer itr was flatbeded. Just a week after I installed the dei gps tracking. He caught the theives in a gas stastion breaking down the car for lo-jack while on the flat bed. Thinks to the gps he was able to follow the car every movement. But it has to be properly installed not just average.

Hell yea. the more layers the better.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by no2unenolife &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">removable steering wheel too!</TD></TR></TABLE>

the more layers the better. I seen a kid drive his car with vise grips because he lost his wheel at the mall

nope, gps tracking is a must too now a days. If its loaded on a trailer and is on the highway how is your autolock, kill switch and alarm useful? Its not sorry to say. It might stop noobs and theifs with out access to a trailer. Sorry but gps tracking installed correctly is a proven factor. There is no way to say it does not work. I deal with this everyday. I install them atleast twice a week. I get feed back from dei and other police sources. A properly installed gps will get your car back. 97% percent of the time. I can live with thoses odds. My unit saved my car 6 times.

Installation is key as wrx-killer-Sti eater mentioned.

Layers are important. Lojack with back up GPS is optimal. even 3 GPS systems. so if they find your Lo-jack and GPS, one more GPS they have to look for... Maybe it's more fun to catch thieves?

Some of these layers as mentioned in other posts just deter the thief or a joyrider. Best advice as mentioned is also to garage your Honda (not just a public apartment garage either). This is not always possible so that's when the other layers come into play.

Don't let your guard down either. It sucks we have to be paranoid, some just say "the heck with it, I have insurance" but if you don't insure your mods, that doesn't help either.

i just read an article on installation of your alarm and how important it is. now i'm thinking of going back and utillizing all of those tips to re-install my alarm system. the initial install was good, but after reading that article, it's better to be safe than sorry. just to add more to the "the more layers the better" idea.

This is going to sound stupid but on my other car I have an alarm, a starter kill switch, fuel pump switch, I also have a horn switch that sounds when you open a door, the trunk, or the hood. It goes off with the alarm. A battery backup for the alarm would be good too. Man when it comes to the safety of your car, anything helps. I like the GPS most of all though.
