Earlier this year I lost compression in my JDM spec b16. Decided to do a full rebuild. This started in April 2006 and is now almost complete. I decided to go through Blacktrax Performance to assist me in the build. The car is JR supercharged with a healthy dose of n2o. Below are pics of the motor build and motor swap:
block fresh from AEBS

CP 9.7 Pistons

Eagle Rods

Decided to go with a GSR intake cam and ITR exhaust cam

pics of the block assembled. These 4 pics were taken by Jei of Blacktrax.

black block FTW!!

bliiing!

ported exhaust port on the head

after a few months
finally got the motor in my garage!
AEBS motor shot

now time to extract the old JDM b16
here we go, halfway out

you can see the JRSC

GONE

during the week I had the JRSC S-tube and JR Intake Manifold ported out by Jei of Blacktrax
ported intake port on the JR intake manifold

ported JR S-tube

S-tube is all smooth inside

got the SC stuff back, put it on the AEBS motor. Now time to drop this baby in!!
hell yeaa, halfway in

almost there

i like this pic

fixed a few bugs and DONE! Fired it up! Now off to Blacktrax for the dyno!!

after hours of breaking in on the dyno and tuning, here are the final results
SC w/ n2o-- 321.4whp & 259.6wtq
(torque curve comes back down at ~210 after the initial spike)
SC only-- ~218whp & ~152wtq

boost goes from ~10 to almost 13 with n2o

The car is a blast to drive and pulls great with the n2o
320whp is definately fun on the street
specs:
AEBS resleeved USDM b16 (1715cc)
JRSC at 10 psi
100 shot wet nitrous (NOS Fogger kit)
CP 9.7 Pistons, Eagle Rods
Supertech Valvetrain
GSR Intake Cam, ITR Exhaust Cam
Skunk2 Sprockets
Kamikaze Exhaust Manifold
Test Pipe
GReddy EVO Cat-back
Hondata S200
After I got the swap and tuning done, decided to put my car in HIN Nighshift in San Francisco. Thanks to JSJ for the pics!!

I'd like to thank Blacktrax and my friends at my DL crew Aluminati for assisting me in this build
next project for me is another HID retrofit, using TSX projectors this time
and yes I was driving the car around for months (including to the EK squad meet) on one dropped cylinder
it sucked, kinda got used to it
next stop is CMI in late October
not done with this car yet, more will come this winter
hope ya like

thanks. Yea, I thought about going with a higher compression to get closer to 300. C/R similar to a b18c5 and going with 10psi. Many ITR JRSC owners net around 260-270whp at 10psi and I think there's one a few years ago who made 286whp. But I wanted to use n2o, so I went with a slightly lower compression to ease tuning.
I thought about going with the LHT intercooler, but decided to just use nitrous

Well this was a good idea for a thread...major props to the person who talked you into it!
The build is awesome...they did an great job at Blacktrax. I just wish I would have had the time to help you swap it in!
I'll be there tonight to take it for a test drive! lol
