Default Stuck on head swap?

My friend recently blew a hole in his block and said if i want to buy his vtec head for $20 i can. I have be saving up to build my block and turbo my f22b2. Do you guys think its worth it to do a vtec head swap? I heard it was a lot of work for only 15hp but i want to hear what you f22b1 and f22b2 turbo guys. Oh yeah the reason why he is selling my the head for $20 is because he is going to get a h22.

i dont know anything about swapping the head from a f to an h but if you can get the head for $20 then just buy it and put it up for sale for $150 and make some money. come on its only $20

where did you get an H from? He's referring to a SOHC F22B1 head, not a DOHC H series.

to the OP:
In the Accord FAQ there is a link to a F22B1 head swap. I believe it's under the "Swaps" category. That should answer your questions as to how hard and involved it is to install.

Whether it's worth it or not is totally up to you. You'll get some that say it is and others that say it isn't. It's your car...

I would say that the extra flow from the vtec head would certainly be beneficial for turbo, but the time/labor/cost of the head swap might outweigh the benefits depending on your financial situation.

Buy the head for $20. Sell it for $150, and buy an H23 head. Then you will have a monster.

the nice hting about the sohc vtec head is it is a direct bolt on replacement, using the exact same manifolds. then you just add the new ecu and vtec wiring.
