I just uploaded a couple of clips on my school's web space from the last ECHC weekend at CMP.

This is the start of Sunday's race. Starting beside me was Blake in his H1/GP 1st gen CRX. I think there's money to be made selling full-length races on CD.

 

I really hate dial up!!!!! I had a hell of a holeshot that race, and I was very worried about launching a heavy *** prelude in the standing start, because the weight is hard to get going, but once its going, it moves! I guess Ecsta V700s will be used as drag slicks from now on..

Still havn't seen the video yet, and I have a lap or two I need to digitalize from my camera

Selling to who? I personally think that the ECHC is about a sgrassroots as it gets considering some competitors drive their cars to the track. I am not so sure charging people to see themselves on track is in line with the whole premise of the series. Certainly selling them to spectators is viable however.

I would also pay for an end-of-season movie compilation but I wouldn't pay for a copy of a race on CD. If I want one I will find a friend who filmed it and dub a copy of his tape for free.

 

This is about the coolest video i have ever seen.

 

We will have to see what the demand is like for HC stuff as the "fan" base grows. I would very much like to do the SpeedVision(rip) style Year In Review DVD at the end of the year.

I'm gonna have to find a way to digitize some of mine. Got Brinson coming around me on the inside of the kink, Lyonel late braking both of us in 11, and then going off. Quality stuff (that just happens to demonstrate how slow I am)

Actually, I guess I worded that the wrong way... what I meant by it, is I feel like there would be a high demand for full-length videos of these events. The videos are nice, but due to size restrictions, they're short. I hadn't given thought to who would be buying them... or whether it would be considered un-grassrootish to do so.

I was thinking relatively cheap anyway, not 39.99 plus 6.95 s/h... For the low-low price of $4.95, you could get a ECHC race, a 30 minute APC infomercial, and 30 minutes of 900 line commercials.

 

Wow I had no idea there was this much interest! But I only have 18 megs available… I also do not have any more digitized videos from actual CMP race since I had to do everything the day after the event because I wanted to return the borrowed digital camera to its owner as soon as possible.

Since it seems like people are starving for some more onboards, I'll post some new clips in a couple of days. To do that I have to remove these clips to free up room for the others. I promise good action in these new clips .

Eventually I will re-post this CMP standing start clip, plus another new CMP clip on the net. But for now, save these current ones while you can because in about 2 days they will be replaced by new ones.

 

Can we host them on the honda-challenge site? Scott, Karl, Zsolt?
