Default B16a w/ Buddy club spec 3+ cams Dyno

OK so today I hit the dyno with my otherwise stock b16 and pulled out some decent numbers for what I have done.

Mods:
stock block b16a
whale *****
spoon replica header (dented from bottoming out)
aebs intake manifold
stock cam gears
test pipe
worldsport exhaust
Buddy Club Spec 3+cams
Supertech springs and retainers

Tuned on crome--by andy @xotic motorsports in PA
http://www.xoticmotorsports.com

158whp
102wtq

Just as a note my compression is 205 195 205 205

Not sure why my torque is so low but it may have something to do with the aformentioned restrictions.

heres the dyno if it works

you might want to consider getting an after market in-tank fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and fuel pressure gauge. adding bigger cams is good but you need to also upgrade your fuel and air (intake manifold) if you want to make the most out of your cams upgrade. you would want to get aftermarket valvetrain as well since the stock ones won't hold up to the aggressive cam lobes that those BC Spec 3's came with.

hope this helps out

We didnt have an issue with fuel-- but I just wanted to get a baseline of my numbers before I went cold air, un-crushedup header, straight through exhaust and adjustable cam gears...

I forgot to put in my original post that I had the valvetrain upgrade. THanks for the advice tho--- you couldnt be more right

tuned with crome by andy at xotic motorsports in conchranville PA

I am pretty sure I was one of the first hondas he has tuned on crome--- Stood behind his work and everything...I will vouch for this shop any day of the week ever. If you have a subaru and are east coast you most likely already know of him... but he stepped outside his comfort zone and still did a great job.

i understand whp, im just sayin unless you have a hatch or sumthin that has a crap stock fuel pump it seems like money could be better spent elsewere... like cam gears
dont get me wrong adj FPR's / guages are nice but not NEEDED with something like crome

I have NEVER once seen the BC3+ peak that high. Are you sure they aren't 4's? That graph resembles more of a 4's profile with the jump in vtec engagement and the high peak.

looks like they peak around 8400-8500K, you can probably use a overbore on your TB.

i agree, bc3+'s usually die off before 8500, that's a strange dyno result

To every person i asked about BC3+ cams, they always said u need mild compression to run these cams.,

But if this is the result with stock internals, ill go for it,

numbers arent that great.

I laid down 168 whp and 113 tq with my ITR cams on my b16.

Definately do some fuel upgrades and get a better header. BP stack would really make that thing scream.

my BC3+ required some time tuning the cam gears to get them to idle well as well as getting them to make the most useable power (I'm not much of a dragger... if you're a dragger, you probably don't want these cams anyway).

I would recommending getting some adjustable cam gears. Mine peaked at 8400RPM in a 11.5:1 1.8L motor.

I agree. Its like CTR status.

But yeah that is pretty strange that they are actually peaking that high...

That thing is really asking for cam gears. Looks good for the setup though. How much did the tuning run you in total?

Ya i expected the cams to die of early as well. The header sucks and its through worldsport with a fake whale ***** and stock cam gears. All that considered I dont think the power was that bad at all. I plan on getting a ITR CAI better header and straight through exhaust with the cam gears to hopefully make the most of these cams.

and just to answer some of the questions its a b16a with 10.4:1

Timing--- im not sure what it was... but not must past stock...my tuner said that my header/exhaust was really holding me back because we werent making power with advancing the timing and it wasnt knocking

and as for this i asked the same question but I doubt that they are anything more hten 3s but the tq/ powerband would make me believe so

ALso--- when i do get the cam gears in there how should I set them? moreover--- are you guys basing the fact that I need cam gears off my powerband? or my power numbers. What would they mostly effect? mid range? I thought 102 tq was pretty low but hopefully the header will be the best improvement
