Any Nor-Cal Group Dyno Days??
well i would be down 100%. what is the name of the shop and what kind of dyno do they use? if you can get an estimate on the price and how many cars are needed for that price i will try to get some people together. thanks
you can call Motorsport Dynamics in Sacramento. (916) 648-8000. they use a dyno-pack dynanometer. it's $65 hr for a horsepower run and $100 hr for dyno tuning.
Dynospot Racing will do dyno days, however in the past too many people end up not showing up or not dynoing so we havn't bothered with anymore dyno days. However maybe later this year (summertime) we'll try another one out.

no air/fuel gauge at Thunder Alley.
So it would have to be just baseline testing I would assume.

we had a dyno day recently at ATP in fremont.. the dyno day price was $50 for 3 runs with a wideband sensor, i think their normal price is $60 or $65 for 3 runs, or $100 for an hour, all with the wideband.
It was set up by another honda-tech member who knew the guys running the shop btw.

another factor you guys might wanna look into besides cheep prices, is to get a shop that knows what they are doing or knows something about tuning and our cars and setups. Even if you don't tune the car, I would figure that you would want someone that can actually read the dynoplot and tell you exactly whats going on and what you might wanna try. Many places have a dyno, but know almost nothing about tuning or reading dynoplots correctly. They just know how to strap the car on and run it and read the peak power. However I would think that you would want someone to run the car who knows a lot about our cars and various setups, and will will look at the dyno curve as a whole rather then just the peak number and give you advice on what to try or do. You might as well get the best bang for your buck.
so lets get back to the topic, can someone with connections or know a shop that will give us a group rate on dyno time???
jonnybravo: can you see if that shop will give us a group rate ?
Rboosted717: since you plug DSR can you set up a dyno day?
i have a few people ready to jump on this, and from the reaction from this post, i think we can fill up 10 spots. thanks guys!!
if anyone can just get a shop to do this then i would be happy to try and round up people. TIA

I'll check on this. BTW, Thunder Alley paid for their wide band O2 but it was on back order and might be in now. Also, they are good tuners as you can see from thier 11.25 sec B20vtec hatch.
when your a few hundread lbs under weight (IE like under 1600lbs which is against the weight rules for NHRA or most any event minus CMI and a few other events) you can be that fast. Just look at the roof, etc... Not to mention that the car use to be Skunks old civic from back in the day so you know that body has been cut greatly. However yeah it makes good power with a killer engine setup, yet when the bore is that big (IE 2.0+liters) you would expect that time and a lot lower. Heck that run of theirs was still the cars first run ever! So you know the times are gonna drop into the 10's easily if the driver does his work and the engine holds up. BTW- did they get that engine fixed after bending a valve at CMI? I forgot to ask them when I was at HIN a little bit ago. Anyway though its a killer car that is gonna make Ericks racing and other think twice about doing a CMI event up here to win.
So your with Thunder Alley now I take it? So you went from DSR, to IB, to Thunder Alley? What shop is next in line that your gonna jock and bother with your so called Hondata problems? lol

cali-r, I will organize a dyno day later this summer. Normally DSR is use to very large dynodays that consist of a lot more then 10 cars because when DSR does dynodays they normally provide lunch, drinks, etc... But yeah I was planning on doing a type R/import dynoday sometime in June to August time.
I'd be down to tag along with you honda guys if it's in the Sacramento area... i drive a 325is, i know it's not a honda, but I'd like to get it dyno'ed and check out eveyone else's nice ride's.

Dude, you sure talk alot of crap... Just to let you know, Jeff at IB did everything expected and my car run bad ***. I've always bought stuff from Thunder Alley since my buddy works there but they don't sell Hondata. I've also always gone to DSR before with my 300zx TT when I had it that's why all of these shops know me. There is no one stop shop around here. Everyone has a little bit of a good quality and that is why I don't just stick to one shop...
I don't talk crap, I just state the obvious facts that are relevant to the matter in hand. Anyone who knows me if it be type R guys, other shops, or anyone for that matter knows that I just stick to the facts and follow through with what I say I'm gonna do. If there’s one thing that I've learned when working on my car and others, its that multiple people/shops working on a particular car will end up with problems or conflicts. Moreover, I know other will agree with me on that.
BTW- how we that lunch Jeff treated you too?
lol

Hey me and my friend are down depending on when. I know this is a newbie question, but do people there tune it for you or you have to do that on your own?
