D15B fully built or B16 mild???
i have 2 choices in front of me. since i already own a D15B. i can take that and boost it, with pistons, rods, cam, and a shot of nitrous, and all the other goodies to make it fast. or i can get a B16 with a Type-R gearbox, chipped ECU, and build on that (which will take more time to save the money).
If i build the D15B i can do it all now.
What do you guys suggest?
How fast can i make the D15B and would it be worth it?
Would i be fun to drive?

I personally would go with a b16a2.
Why? it's personal preference and I don't want to start a B > D series war but I had a d16z6 and now a b18b from a integra and would take a b-series engine over a d-series anyday.

I do love my little D15B vtec. problem is, is that it is so slow. and i would have to do so much to "maybe" be fast.
from doing my research the D15 block seems weaker. and am so scared of building it and then it blows on me. then all of that money would be wasted.
That is the beef i have and that is why i started this thread.
thanks. please keep the info coming

i would have to say b16. there's always room for tuning.

but he makes alot of sense as well. not only are parts for b-series expensive, but hard to come by.

In the long run you will have much more power and options. You might even get more horse power out of a swap than you will turboing a little D series motor. </TD></TR></TABLE>
Doubt it,not many b series swaps will give you 180+whp. Edelbrock, greddy and jackson racing with low boost and shitty management give you all 170+whp.
dollar for dollar turbo d seires will give you more whp for less cost. You find me a swap that will give me 200+whp for less than 1700.

D turbo everyone underestimates them. if done right ull be surprised. just look at bense. that dude took his d15 and is rebuuilding it. when hes done. he will ****** smoke dohc with vtec... if u know how to build a engine u can ****** build the engine. know ur motor and u can pull what u need out of it. umm im not sure how safe it is to spray on a d. shouldnt kill it but that matters to how well built it is and how much ur sprayin. and then r u wanting to do this for daily driving or track only cuz stage2 crower if u dont wanna kill yur MPG. but if yur doing it track only stage3 crower cam. i mean it comes down to alot of ****.
