Wiring headache... obd0-obd1 wiring harness conversion
ughh... it's 5 am and i have been prepping my engine (b18b) for installation for about 7 hours now (cleaning throtle body, new injectors...). I started on the wiring harness conversion and have been having problems... OK>>
First of all I have a book that tells me you must switch your distributor that is on the engine (b18b) with the one that was on the original car (d15)... I had to grind some pieces on my d15 distributor, but I finally got it on. I'm not sure if this is a must, but i went with what the book said...
Next, There are a bunch of plugs which are the same on the b18 harness as the d15... I have been making sure wires match up and plugs look the same... I cut the old plugs and installed the new ones.
There are lots of plugs that dont match up... what do i do with these? I found some wires matching up with other plugs and some just dont match... I have a headache and I'm going to finish up a few things then hopefully you guys can help me out in the morning... i guess i need a wiring schematic for both harnesses...91 dx and b18b... help!?????

dpfi... the b18 is mpfi... problem...
The distributor from the d15 and the wiring harness get along real well... I dont know what the hell i would do with the differant plugs if i kept the b18 distributor! I read it in a honda swap book... seems very legit, written by aaron bonk... "cartech" i dont know, just some book i picked up a auto zone when i got my axles.

If you arent that familiar with the DPFI to MPFI conversion contact rywire.com and have them build you a harness for the B18. If you are interested in converting to obd1 why not get the obd0 to obd1 ecu harness converter? Its less wiring and easy to convert back to obd0 if you need to. Ive swapped a few EF's and here is my basic rundown of whats needed for the ol B swap:
-90-93 integra axles
-mount kit
-modified shift linkage
-integra throttle cable(easier than using the DX)
-misc wiring to add or lengthen when necessary
-dpfi to mpfi wiring how-to if the EF is a DX/STD model
-new ecu either OEM or chipped to run new B series
-B series upper/lower radiator hoses(90-93 Teg)
HTH. PM me if you have questions.

lol dont listen to that **** man,,,,,you cant use the d15 dpfi dizzy on that motor and expect to have mpfi and obd1..........This is what you do.....put back on the b18b dizzy,,then convert to mpfi and obd1.........

easier said then done........ I guess nobody has the dpfi-mpfi / obd0-obd1 how-to.... i guess ill give rywire a call real quick... is it possible to wire it yourself???

Yes its possible ive done it on cars and im not even that good with this wiring crap..
using these links as guidelines http://fourthgenhatch.net/mpfi.html http://www.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin...-OBD1

I don't see why not... im switching back anyway, but its not like the dizzy controls the fuel injectors.......

YOU HAVE TO use a obd1 dizzy on a obd1 ecu.... and a dx (square plug) dizzy wont work on anything but a dx
You're right, dude. It doesn't matter what distributor you use. Honda actually just grabs one out of their nifty distributor grab box and they put it on with their eyes closed. [/sarcasm]
If you're running an OBDI ECU, you have to run an OBDI distributor. If you're running MPFI, you have to run an MPFI distributor. If you're running OBDI and MPFI, guess what you have to use. That's right, an OBDI MPFI distributor. Believe it or not, there really is a difference.

It's mad easy to do ... just got finished ... I finished the dpfi-mpfi .... I finished the dizzy wires... ANYONE ELSE COMPLETE THIS SWAP AND HARNESS CONVERSION?? HAVE ANY ADVICE/POINTERS???? any things i may have overlooked? im about to start on the o2 sensor... i know i have to run extra wires to the ecu... fun fun!!! alrighty im back at it!
oops... i take that back... still stuck on the dizzy... going from obd0-obd1...
heres the set up and the problem i am having...
obd0.....................................obd1
Peach...................................White
Blue/Yellow.......................Blue/Yellow
Thin White.............................Peach
Peach/Blue.......................Peach/Blue
Fat White........................Yellow/Green
Ok, so thats done... now i have 2 wires left on the obd1 plug for the dizzy...
BLUE/YELLOW
BLUE/GREEN
These two are left, and i dont know where they go, please help!?!
These two wires are the cylinder position sensor... I dont know, but i believe i need to hook these wires up to the crank angle sensor?!??? im going to move on to the o2 sensor... hopefully i get some feedback... ill take pics if needed.

I just bought the haynes manual for the new engine and made my own wire harness, Try that if the "HOW to" links didnt work. OR buy the conversion harness
Its not that hard to make, it just takes an assload of time and you risk throwing codes if you dont make it properly.

r u sure the peach doent go with the peach and the 2 white wires go together?
also the blu/yel and the blu/grn go to C1 and C2 at your ecu, run wires from ecu to dist and hook it up. i believe C1 is blu/grn
dont worry dude, swap is easy. i did this swap too, well except my motor was obd2 not obd1.

i was wondering what c1c2 was... lol hahahaaaa ok cool,... I think your right though about the other wires... BUT THN WHERE DOES YELLOW/GREEN GO>?> I was using 4 differant sets of directions and i was just looking them over and the one that had clear dizzy instructions was for a ZC. well the engine is going to my friends garage right after i write this to put it in... oooo i cant wait... I'm going on vacation to north carolina after the swap is done!
