Default UPDATE on MB products........

Yes I am a NOOB to HondaTech, but not to the industry.......

Aloha,

I have seen a few posts regarding my close relatives
and their family business MB products.
This is just a quick note to update the community on the current status
of the company and what we offer to the community at large.

I just spoke to Dave and knowing that he doesn't
believe in getting caught up in the "he said; she said" he asked me to
set the record straight for all those concerned parties involved.

For those of you that don't know me, I was the one that originally
approached Dave about doing these parts way back in 1993.

They took my ideas, improved on them, designed and fabricated
everything in house. As those of you that know your ROOTS,
basically created the market for fiberglass racing components
when there was none before from scratch.

I would like to believe that they were an integral part in
pushing the performance envelope forward as we all progressed
personally and professionally to our present situation.
As I had the honor and privilege of being a part of the import racing
scene in its infancy and watch it grow to where it stands today.

As we all know, change is inevitable.
With growth comes the willingness to adapt
and to continually move forward.

Due to rising(and sometimes ridiculous) material costs.
It is no longer cost effective to make parts in "ones and twos" orders.
I truly feel that they should not completely stop making parts.
But they dont feel the same......... So I am stepping in and
I am now in the process of taking over the sole responsibility
of the fiberglass related production, sales, distribution, etc.
To also decide what is in the best interests of MB products
as an innovative and growing company.

Along with re-introducing our traction control for honda/acura
that we came out with on my personal vehicle back in 1993.
that many have tried to copy and failed in their attempts.

if you have any questions/inquiries please forward it to my email
mb_prdcts@yahoo.com
and I will try my best to accomodate your requests.

For those of you that have faithfully supported and utilized
our products. My utmost respect to you and yours.

We also offer powdercoating services for large scale production runs.
and for all those people that are wondering where all their new found
time is spent...........here's a peek:
HINT: upper right in the pic/ under the canopy tent!!

The guys have more skills than the average enthusiast.
With years of experience and professionalism.
they even stay true to their roots and use V6 Legend power!!
hahaha!!
Car as shown with 3.5 Honda VTEC and Mendeola 4E trans. $35,000
the last one that rolled out of the shop sold for over $100,000!!

So as you can see, it is a little more profitable then selling one or two
one piece front ends, let alone most fiberglass parts...........

Anyways, I hope this clears any rumors, assumptions, etc.
I look forward to assisting you in the near future.................

For those companies and racers that did support us in the past
I would like to take this time to personally thank you for your
interest(s) and personal investment(s) into our company
by buying our products.

If there are any SERIOUS fiberglass fabricators interested.
The molds are for sale to competent and professional individual(s).

We also have some one-piece body(doorslammer) applications(EK&RSX)
that were not released to the public for sale also........

thanks in advance,
1320Teknology.........since 1988

Actually the import community will decide if we continue on.....
I just feel that they should have the opportunity to make that choice with us.

Money-wise its not a lucrative or successful business to be in.
Most people don't understand that and think we make a huge profit
on the parts.

The honest truth is that we've always felt we should provide quality parts
at an affordable price for the consumer in an area that didn't exist
before we created it.
Problem is, that some consumers feel as if something is "owed" to them
because they know "so-and-so" or whatever the case may be.

I've got stories for days of driving over "xx"-hours to an event(like the first BOTI)
and being told by a certain racer(who shall remain nameless)
that our product(s) wasn't good enough to be tested on his car.
He never even looked at it or gave me the time of day!!

Only to be told later(after we got our stuff out there........)
by the same person that we should hook him up because he is "so-and-so".
And if we hook him up, everyone will buy our stuff cause he's using it.
Well, needless to say.............we are still here and he is not.

Not to mention all the shady-sheisty people in the industry that are
so success minded that they step on the little peeps(like us and some "friends")
to go to the extent of even stealing our one-piece prototype
and taking it to another shady-sheisty donkey to copy and replicate.
I wouldn't have a problem with sharing ideas and such,
cause that is how we evolve and move forward.......
It was just way out of line to have to do something so disrespectful.
Its not like they make enough of their share in the billion dollar industry.
They have to steal what little we have too!! flippin donkeys!!

Now dont get me wrong there are some very talented people out there.
But no matter how much talent you have,
it will only last for a season in your life.
Your attitude and character will last your lifetime.........

Our products have been tested and proven time and time again.
We take pride in selling quality not quantity.

Its because of those people that I feel obligated and loyal to their passion(s).
Although, I can't give the parts away for free or at the 'old" prices cause
as previously mentioned........material costs have gone up.

The same talented and dedicated people like Rick Rojo
and the rest of the staff are still down for the cause
and doing it for the same pay .........day after day for over 10 years!!

So as long as the community supports us and understands
the "hows" and "whys", we'll all be satisfied with the end result.

Shannon was living in Yuma at the time we started all of this up.
It was his idea from the get go and we just supported him 110%.
He never asked for anything in return, no royalties or anything!!
He even supported us in return through R&D and testing
on his own personal vehicles and even paid for his own parts.

Last I spoke to him, he moved back to the islands.
He had a heartbreaking situation with his daughter
and his parents are severely ill. So he went back.

Hopefully he'll come back to cali and help us with some other
areas of our business. We just wish the best for him and his family.

thanks for asking and on a side note.......
we still believe you were the "FIRST" in your past endeavors.
If you know what I mean.......

So you won't be producing the EG front ends anymore but are selling the molds to serious fiberglass guys? All I know is I need that front end. Suggestions?

My MB front end was purchased from you guys in 1998 and after being tossed around until 2004 it was still in great shape. It was light, strong, flexible, and really took a beating. If only our Insight front end was this light, durable, and perfectly even on both sides.

Thanks for the good product

Thanks for the kind words. Yes I was born and lived in Maui for 20yrs. I thought maybe you were either Shannon or at least related in some way.
I am currently living on the Big Island but will be moving back to the mainland in about 6 months or so.

We are in a transition stage right now.
Its going to take a few weeks to organize things.

That is NO PROMISE WHATSOEVER.......
that there will even be any more MB products
available to the general public in small quantity.

A suggestion was that we would do a major run
every quarter(3 months) or maybe
once or twice a race season.
One prior to the season and the second in mid season.

We need to have multiple orders at one time
for this to be feasible for everyone involved.
If not, our only other option is to sell the molds
to a reputable and experienced person or company.
Then have them take on the responsibility
of making them available for general sale to the public.

I will personally be in touch with all of the people
that post here or email me.

EMAIL IS THE KEY.......

thank you for your support,

My advice is if you want to run large batches is do group buys and get your cash upfront

Damn Lo, that **** is smokin' all painted up like that.

to MB I, as well as many people understand where you are coming from. This is a young sport with broke car owners. I'm sure it's just not the cost of materials that has soured your business. I'm sure it's the cost of competition on the racer's part as well. The cost to race in a class where a fiberglass body part as large as your front end is allowed has probably quadrupled within the last 6 years due to advancement in technology and needing stronger parts to stay together for more runs down the track.

here's my suggestion that might peak an interest...or not

Look into the street classes. With so many hondas competing in the street classes nowadays and strict rules on cutting of the body, maybe produce some wider fenders for a series of hondas. That way they have room to play with the suspension height and travel without the worry of destroying a tire in the process causing damage or even injury. I was thinking about venturing into this a year or 2 back but I have no means nor the money to invest in such a large production run for various different styles of honda bodies. I know for sure you will get at least enough to cover R&D time and mold making time/material.

We need a Trunk lid and possibly a Sunroof cap, for our 2000 Civic SI Hot Rod car.
I want to say it is a MB trunklid on the car now, but not sure.
Do you have molds for these pieces??

awesome idea

I found one place that has made wide fenders for EG before, they looked clean, but they don't return calls/emails so I can't get my hands on a set.

I would buy them in a second. just for the ability to run the front end a lil low without rubbing the 24.5s...

My friend picked up a set long time ago. The packing job was pretty shitty, and the fiberglass was cracked off on the corner's of the fender. The guy that made them didn't have the best customer service when my friend wanted some reimbursement for the damages. Just a heads up...Stay away from that guy.
