GOT PROBLEM PLEASE HELP friend shifted from 3rd at redline to 2nd car wont start

I think the proper course of action would be a compression and leak down test right?
Sounds like he broke that thing. Get a flatbed and take it to a dealer or a reputible shop.

PS It always amazes me how many people mis-shift like this or the 4-2 is another stumper. It is truely amazing... And Really bad for the car, not like a toasted clutch or anything...

That's why I really don't like to let other people drive my baby. The more and more I hear of all these "other" driver mistakes makes be want to become an ******* and not let other people drive her.

That's why I really don't like to let other people drive my baby.
shifting from redline 3 to 2nd.. ur engine is pretty much toast. Bring it to a shop and hopefully most of it is still in one piece. Next time, before u let ur friend drive ur car, make sure he knows how to shift.

This is why I set my motor up so that no valves will bend even on a misshift.

The same thing happened to my friends 97 ITR. When he just got the car, he had put a different shift ****. You know those type that you tighten with an screw to the stick shift?? anyway....
So here we are at a red light (way back in 1997!!) and some guy pulls up in a 5.Slow So at the green, my friend just revs up his ITR, and off we were.... 1st gear...2nd...gear...8800rpm... 3rd gear...8800rpm... then he goes to shift to 4th gear, and since my friend shifts fast like lightening, he ripped off the shift **** off the stick shift which was tightened hard enuff.... so here we are, 8800rpm, 90+mph, mustang up our ***, my friend is in a total panic grabs the stick shift, and puts it, in what he thought was 4th gear... but it was really 2nd gear.......ALL YOU HEAR IS...
OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUWWWWWWWWWWWWEAAAAAAAAHHHH....
no joke, the tach rpm need flies straight past 10000, i mean...12000RPM or something like that, the needle went straight down, only for like 2-3 secs, ....
anyway...turns out, he blew the clutch, had to overhaul the tranny, but the motor was A1..... no problem with the motor what so ever, i was really surprised, blown tranny, but motor ok.. Let me tell you, he has is stock stick shift back on his car!
