Default Would you buy a RHD converted Integra?

I'm seriously thinking of converting my Integra to right hand drive. These are my reasons:

-It's pretty inexpensive if you do it yourself.

-I'm coverting my front end to JDM, doing a wire tuck, and removing my motor anyways.

-I've always thought that having a RHD car would be fun and a head turner.

-I think doing the conversion myself would illustrate the level of skills I have and what my company, Carma Autowerks, can do.

-It's not a daily driver, so I dont have any concerns about practicality.

So that being said. I have the notion that by converting my car to RHD, it would increase the street value. Obviously, blue book value would decrease, but the "real world" value would increase...I know quite a few guys who would pay $1,000 to $3,000 extra if the car was RHD.

So my question is....would you buy a RHD Integra and if so, would you pay extra if it was RHD?

^ I understand.

I think that would be my fear as well if I was buying a converted car.

doing a firewall conversion has nothing to do with the structural integrity of the car, how do you think they put in the firewall in the first place? its welded in. if you want to, then do it

The same as on a LHD car - the left foot.

To answer the original question, if I were to purchase a RHD car, I would not want one that had been "converted", and would definitely not pay a premium for such a car.

the fire wall will crumble still whether its spot welded or seam welded. if its a show car to just display what your company can do......do it. Your not going to be driving it everyday and its really for show so why not.

your absolutly wrong buddy. any good weld is just as good as a factory weld, hell my shop could make em better than factory. the omportant part is to paint the raw metal so it doenst rust.

I'd check the laws around you first. I myself wouldn't do it because of how hard I've heard it is to get them on the road after.

Structural integrity is of utmost importance. Plus, it might just be me, but I hate, and I mean HATE it when my car makes noise due to vibrations. Little vibrations and squeaks drive me CRAZY!!! But yeah, anything anyone has ever done to change the overall structure of the car is a complete turnoff.

Pardon me for not seeing the point of paying THOUSANDS of dollars to sit in the passengers seat. You could probably import one for less than converting one.

I agree that it would be a very worthwhile project to showcase your shop's skill. However, I also agree that the margin for error is pretty high, and unless absolute dedication is given to this project it could turn the car into a useless mess. I would not buy a converted car, but I would probably buy other services from a shop that has converted a car.

I would probably buy one, if everything was double checked, so that the margin for error would be small.

I would buy one. Hell think of the fun you could have going through the drive through in reverse haha. Okay yeah I am easily amused.
I would also like to convert my car to RHD sometime down the road.

Why would it be illegal to convert your car? and why would you have a problem registering your car. Seeing as how he already has it, I would assume it is already registered, therefore he wouldn't need to re-register after doing "body work".

But to answer your question I would buy one. As for buying a converted one I would like to know that it was not done half ***. That is why I will end up doing my own in a few years. Go for it and post pics when your done.

Thousands?

No way would I pay thousands of dollars for a conversion.

My conversion will cost about $300 bucks. Seriously, it's really not that expensive anymore....if you know how to do it.

If you want to do it, do it. Personally I would never buy a converted car although I would consider buying a non USDM RHD vehicle if I had enough money to deal with all the "headaches". I really doubt that converting the car to RHD would raise the value of the car.

I think the rhd conversion looks kool but thats it. If your a street racing like I it would probably be painfull trying to learn to shift with your left hand. f your all about looks.....go for it.

wtf, street racing?

RHD is sometimes better on the tracks with many right turns

If you can visually see that the new fire has been welded in decently i seriously doubt there is any safety issues at all. Really think about it.

I think RHD might not make a car as expensive, take Brandon's ITR (OG JDM)
He sold that for 12K I recall
