Default Need Some Electrical help!! Drag car wiring harness

I was wondering if anyone has a Wiring Diagram laid out for a Drag car.
Just Curious if you are still using the stock Engine Harness or if you are wiring everything straight to the ECU.

Thanks,

but what wires are you using to hook up the rest of the car.. are you using the main relay? Underhood Fuse box? Dash Fuse box?

make your own wiring harness isnt that difficult just time consuming.... mine took about 80 hours but it shouldnt take any longer than 30

im very good with wiring so im fairly confident on doing it. i just need a basic wiring diagram to do it.

Im going to bypass the main relay and all that so ill just feed Ignition 12v for the injectors.

Here is a pic of the Relay board that im most likely going to use

sorry about that i didnt read your thread all the way through, if your gonna keep your chassis harness why just do the engine arness its not going to save you anything but it will give you a headache just stick with the stock harness and go race.

what i really want to do is wire all the sensors from the engine straight to the ECU. ( Running S300 BTW)

THere is no heat no AC or anything like that.. i was just gonna tap off the ECU and run it to my ITR cluster.

only thing in the interior that is going to be kept is the ITR gauge cluster.

I've built two before and have them running on 2 Drag Cars. We are going to be doing all the testing this summer, and I plan on having them mass produced over the winter.

thanks but i need mine in like 2 weeks and i prefer to do it my self that way i know whats going on with everything and if something messes up i can only blame my self. not knocking you at all by means. my friends have had some wiring done by companies and they had nothing but problems with the wiring so i prefer to do it my self.

I'm sure I won't be much help here, but this is what my custom full race OE style (motors driven by factory ECUs) look like. As you can see they're basically a fully reworked OEM harness (I generally just start with OBDI Civic/Teg harnesses). Then all that's required is a 12V+ power, ground, and starter signal.

just unpin the wires going to your ECU that dont associate with your guage cluster. ill be honest with you though, its a pain in the *** and takes way too much time considering the amount of **** you actually get rid of. i was still using a stock GSR guage cluster and GSR dash in a 92 civic hatch at the time.
thats what i was running until this year. then i ditched my dash and used my factory engine harness.
i made my own harness to a switch panel. if you need it within 2 weeks good luck. its very time consuming and using that relay board just seems like it could get a little complicated.
i have power coming in feeding a terminal strip then going to a main switch which then goes to a fused distribution block, then back to the associated switch for what its running then out to the piece of equipment. sounds complicated but its really easy. the hardest part was making sure everything had power.
i spent 30 hrs in one weekend trouble shooting my harness cause i wasnt getting power to the ignitor or injectors. then i found out my regulator didnt have power either so my alternator wasnt charging. once that was figured out i havent had any problems since. ive been very happy with the results.

What's wrong with using the OEM schematic and cutting out the crap you don't need?

whats the point in doing it anyways...not liek it'll give you much of a weight reduction, and it'd be easier with all the wires there than half missing and routed a different way.

lol take apart an interior harness and find out. its a pain in the ******* ***. i just want it all to be simple.

Push start Ignition, Fuel Pump ECU Power. and lights and that is it.

Off topic once again, but here's my K20/EJ plug-n-play harness. Still have yet to do a full race, or OBDI EH/DC version, but I'll probably start one soon just for the hell of it.

What's up Travis! Yea, talked to Scott about it a little, a while back... Is that what EMS you're going to be running for sure now?

yeah, just gotta add the cage onto the roll bar, and do the tube work, then get some measurements for the harness
