B16a crx swap, clutch problem
I have a 1988 Si with a JDM B16a, I used a DA clutch cable/Exedy Stage 1 clutch. I am also using Real SiR shift linkage for a RHD ( Could be the problem ).
Now the car worked for two months, I could drive it. However the whole time I have been having problems with my tranny and clutch.
When I am driving it gets very hard to put into gear, and when this happends I usally stop some place and tighten my clutch cable. Well that does not work any more I have no more adjustment for my clutch cable, it is maxed/can not go any tigher. My clutch petal also makes creaking nosies when I step on it. So I figured mabye I over tightened it, so I loosend it up. Now the car will only go into gear when the car is off, when I turn on the car it will not even come close to going into gear, its like my foot is not even on the clutch.
Is it my cable? Mabye the shift linkage is wrong, or what should I do?

Any idea's H-T buddys?

i had nearly the same problem with my excedy clutch in my crx, i dont have a b16a yet but i still had about the same problem so...i hope you find something out...who installed your clutch?
it could be the clutch pedal assembly, i had this similar problem and i found out the clutch pedal assembly was torn due to my stage one clutch b/c its harder to push in so its puttin more stress and force on the actual pedal.
to fix this i called around some junkyards and found a replacement, it was not too fun to take it out.
to see of its the pedal assembly look under the dash and see if theres a tear where the clutch pedal pivot point is.
hopefully this helped

I was kinda thinking this might be part of the problem. I will go check right now.

its probably a problem under the pedal...cause i had this problem before,,i had to adjust the cable under the hood and under the pedal cause there was some slack under there so it wasnt working right

How would I go about adjusting the cable under the pedal?
Mr Speaker I <3 your car BTW.

There is a bolt on the pedals assembly and it has a jam nut on it....you loosen the jam nut and can thread the bolt further down,,Lower the pedal to make the cable looser and raise the pedal to make it tighter....
My car? i never posted pictures on the internet yet ..well Just pics of the engine, and exhaust but thats about it...

The sir shiftlinkage works perfect with the hasport mounts..I use them on the swaps i do if it comes with the engine all the time,,,but most times it arrives missing,,or damaged,,or an integra piece.......

There shouldnt be a reason to mess with the bolt on the pedal assembly. I believe thats to adjust pedal height, not to take up slack in the cable. If u have to resort to that bolt, you probably have other problems like a stretched cable.
About the linkage, great for you (if u get straight linkage), but I ALWAYS match the linkage to the mounts, regardless. That way you cant go wrong and I know there wont be any problems the first time. Also, when using old linkage, most of the time there is a little too much play in the joints and that can affect shift quality.

Could it be tranny fluid?
Well I don't think it is the petal, I guess the cable could be streched but I got it brand new ( Not from Honda ) two months ago.
