What's the dollar amount you paid for your Fit?
What's the OUT THE DOOR DOLLAR AMOUNT you paid for your particular Fit model and where? This includes tax, license, markup, wheel locks, etc... Don't include interest on a loan. Also, don't include down payment or monthly payments.
I paid [B]$18,000[B] exactly for a silver, Fit Sport AT. No other accessories in Bay Area, California (that's San Francisco to San Jose roughly).

Keep in mind Canadian dollars + we get raped in taxes + the car costs more here.
LX, Auto, Keyless entry
out the door without downpayment CDN $22,600.00 or roughly U.S. $19,800.00
14% tax here though...

I paid msrp for that economy car. Add to that ca sales tax of 8.025 percent plus about 200 in license fee and you get 18k.

You can actually get a civic LX automatic for that price (when i was gonna buy, i was deciding the same thing) but i ended up gettin the fit b/c i wanted a 4-door vehicle. also, the fit is 2007 compared to the civic's 06.

I tried to get an insurance quote on a Fit and the lady told me they'd "never heard of it" and it wasn't in their system. I provided a VIN number and that didn't work either. Hard to believe that AmFamily doesn't insure a single Fit.

I'm considering either a Fit Sport 5spd or a new Civic LX 5spd. It seems like both would get about the same gas mileage, but the Fit can haul more.

No, you couldnt. Edmunds says TMV for EX 5pd is $18,200. Quite a bit more than the $15,700 for Fit Sport 5spd.
Oh, and one other thing...cars w/o hatches suck

In another year, the dealers will start budging on prices. They have no need to do so at the moment.
I'll wait...
