Bad tuning, if you go too lean your egts will raise to the point that the piston can melt

Sorry but what does egts stands for?..It was tuned with hondata...so i would say it was tuned pretty well. The place i went to is a well knew good tuner place.
EGT is exhaust gas temperature, did you maybe put some 87 octane in by accident? how long has your motor been set up like this? how long ago did you have it tuned? you should take a picture of the plug from the cylinder that has the hole in the piston so we can see. Also post up your graph from your dyno session so we can see your a/f graph.

Your valves will also show signs of leaning out. i see none on his.

The plugs are actually in one of those pictures...i never took it out..But i never put in 87 in my tank b4 and it's been tuned for about 1yr. Sorry i dont have the graph but i definately wont blame it on the tuner. He did what he was suppose to do infact help me correct a couple of things that my first tuner didn't do. I'm just sad/mad that that happen w/ no reason to it.

Its still possible, i know of a motor that was built and the pauter rod when shooting through the new sleeve..... Turbo Ls/vtec motor...
In your first pic is that a hole in the piston?

Exactly what I was about to see. Sleeves have a NOTHING to do with a throwing a rod.

Classic detonation pproblem. Too low an octane for the compression ratio and timing lead. Possible oil contamination lowering the fuel octane rating
For how many days did you hear the "pinging" or "knocking" sound before it broke?

You're lucky, my friend melted my $750 Endyn pistons that were ceramic coated. He went crazy on advancing the timing and leaned out the AF ratio. So far I'm into the rebuild 2k and got another 1.5k to spend.
