Default Beginner Bike

I'm 6'1" 160 lbs, i've ridden dirt bikes and a cruiser a couple of times...i'm looking for a beginner bike...I'm looking at a 2001 or 2002 Honda CBR600F4i...i've heard that this is a really good bike to learn on...I plan on taking he MSF class and i realize how dangerous motorcycles can be...with this said, would this be a good bike for me to learn on?

zx-10r, zx-12 zx-14, Hayabusa, GSXR1000, YZF-r1. I think that covers it.

Or an sv-650.

one thing i don't understand is why do people (especially taller ones) always list their height/weight when they seek approval with starting on a supersport

if something is gonna run 10s in the 1/4 mile, its gonna run 10s in the 1/4 mile. it doesn't matter how strong or how big you are. the same goes for crashing, it doesn't matter if you're 6'5 and 220lbs. if you bite it, you bite it, end of story.

having said that, i don't think F4i's are bad beginner bikes. they're not GREAT, but with some respect, it can be done

i am new to this forum thing...and i've seen a bunch of people list their height and weight because of how it relates to the ergonomics of the bike and everything...i was just saying cause i thought it made a difference...but i guess you should go and sit on the bikes to actually see how they feel...so yea i think i like the f4i

Don't be over confident and you should be fine on the f4i.
