Default My time has come.. A rollover!

I rolled over during a lapping session yesterday. It happened on a off-camber turn at about 120km/h. The rear-end was a little loose, but I didn’t try to aggressively correct it because I usually drift in this corner. Then I realized I don’t have time to settle the car before the brake zone and decided to leave the pavement. It’s unpleasant, but nothing really to worry about yet, since the track has no walls. As I entered a green field the rear end jumped left and within a moment we are sideways. The front wheel dug into the dirt and… you know the rest of the story. Judging by marks on the ground the car was airborne for 3.5 – 4 meters.
Me and a passenger walked away without serious injuries, and that’s a good part. The bad part is it looks like the frame of the car is twisted and probably I will have to part with it.
Here are come pictures:

If some of you guys from GTA can give me some advice, it would be great, because I need it.
1. I need to find some way to tow a car from the track (~100 km from Toronto). Tow track can be expensive, and I don’t have a trailer.
2. Find a good body shop in Missisauga or Toronto area to get the estimate and possibly, repairs.
3. Find a place where I can store the car for a while
4. Find a theft recovery as a donor of the frame.

looks like the car is fucked...I hated when people told me this, but buy it back from the ins. co and make a hybrid.

sorry for your loss, I always fear that I will destroy my car at a lapping day...

ditto

sorry to hear about the wreck, thank the Big Man you're still typing. Cars can be replaced or fixed, people are tougher. I agree, buy the wreck back and make a hybrid.

(2) What track is this? It looks like some of the corners are very close to each other, and if you go off you run too great a risk of running into a car on another part of the track.
yeah i just noticed that, looks like a paved autocross...

What are EMT's?

It is a Mosport Driver Development Track. I love it, because it is not very big, but extramily challenging. Speed is usually not that hi, so the spase for run-offs is not an ussue. The corner I screwed was the fastest one.

Sorry to hear about your car. On a side note would you be interested in selling your front lip? Mine needs to be replaced. Drop me a email.

What are EMT's?

The people in the high performance vans with red and blue lights? Who make sure we don't kill ourselves on the track?
This is why just a rollbar is not enough.
And that passenger was pretty lucky!

Why are you people so uncreative?

Sorry to see that dude... thats some serious damage. I would buy it back and build a 4 door type R out of it instead of the hatch because they are so common these days.... But thats just me...

per above ... It is a Mosport Driver Development Track.

Oh, about my roll bar comment.
I guess it really depends on the luck of the first bounce or two.

Glad both of you were still able to walk away!

That thing is not even close to being repairable, it's an obvious total loss. Even if someone tried to make an attempt to repair it, it would never be the same, I dont care what kind of frame rack is used- that thing is toast.

I agree, if you can find a recovered theft that would be your best bet.

Sorry about your car thats a huge bummer

that sucks.....sorry about the whip man.

if you want to put the work in, you can try and reuild it, or just use the baby for parts. Use the insurance money, get a hatchback, and use the itr parts.

Dude, they are all like that. The day I totaled my GSR and posted pictures, I got about 20 IM's and about 50 emails of people wanted parts off of it.

how dose the process of buying back a car that is a total write off work??
is that a 2001 R? that really sux. hate to see an R in that shape. >_<

1) would the ins company let you buy it back?
2) at what value?
3) would they insure you on the hybrid?
4) any other process?
