Default Bone stock low compression B20 non VTEC dyno.

I recently installed a bone stock low compression B20 in a friend's Integra LS. He was on a budget, but I did manage to talk him into getting a Hondata S100. I tuned the car and the motor managed 134 ft-lbs. of torque and 136 horsepower on the Dynapack at Church Automotive Testing. I got my hands on a GSR exhaust manifold and a-pipe, so I replaced the anemic B20 exhaust manifold. I also had a hollow cat in my garage to I popped that on there too. Put the car back on the dyno and it squeaked out 138 ft-lbs. of torque and 145 horsepower. Nice little gains everywhere. I slapped the magic velocity stack intake on the car and did a couple of minor A/F tweaks and the motor put down 146/149. Not too bad for an engine that is rated at 133/146 at the flywheel!

I just paid for a set of Crower 62403-2 cams from another H-T member, so I am curious as to what kind of gains those cams are worth over stock. I guess that we will find out...

If you lower/raise the VTEC xover youll gain some mid range power..

I like the sound of the idle with crower cams on a b20

if thats a low compression b20 then it has the super small b20 cams in it. 8.9mm lift on the intake comapred to 10mm stock b18b/b20z and i belive the 403's are around 10.8 lift. thats the reason the torque falls off so fast after 5k.

good numbers though, i estimate i was putting down about 145-150 on stock b20z engine with bolt ons on a dynojet.. im putting down 165 now on a half *** tune with crower 404 cams and im hoping for the 200 mark this week when i slap in some RS pistons and a p8r head

I was wondering about the cams-I did some searching to try and find out if the cams were different and came up empty. I have the LS cams; I will throw those in and see what the motor will do.

I take it this is with the p75 head?

Anyways I think this is the first thread with the low comp dyno. Did you mean 145/139?

very nice numbers. Now....high comp pistons, ported head, lumpy cams, and more tuning. Who needs VTEC?

Tried the LS intake cam and made a few more peak ponies. There was a wierd dip at 6,750 that could not be tuned out. Cam gears may have been able to correct the problem, but money is an issue for my buddy so we worked with what we had. The following graph is with the magic intake:

Ah now I see where you got your numbers from. The first graph threw me off.

Is he still going to put in the crowers?

The cams are about the limit of his budget, he is not a big racer, so he is very happy with the power and torque that he is making. This car will probably never see a track. He is going to run the stock intake.

crower + b20 = nice street setup
not bad at all so far for the setup
plus the somewhat lopey idle of the crowers sound sweet.

damn i need a 2liter the 1.8tq just kills me.
hehe
again nice setup and great numbers
