Default DPFI-MPFI good idle but erratic above 1000rpm

Ok, I just finished an MPFI swap on my 91 CRX DX. I searched around but did not find answers for my particular issue though I have already tried many answers to simialr issues to no avail.

The setup/install:

On a D15B2

D16Z6 IM
B16A1 TB
Si TPS
Si EACV
Si IAT
Si Injectors (new seals)
Si Dizzy
Si Resistor Box
89 Si (PM6) ECU

New TB and IM gaskets (B16A1 TB gasket and D16Z6 IM gasket).

I verified the procedure via 8 different writeups to be sure I got the correct information. I soldered and shrank all connections and checked for continuity. I checked, rechecked and rechecked again every connection prior to the first start. I swapped the TPS wires, and have the CPS wires done correctly aswell as all injectors.

I was not 100% sure about the vaccuum and water connections, I have them as follows:

Vaccuum, etc.

TB big nipple - charcoal cannister
TB small nipple - purge
IM big nipple - plugged (should there be a PCV between here and the crank case vent box?)
IM little nipple - fuel pressure regulator
IM rear small nipple - Map sensor
IM rear big nipple (angled) - brake boost
Fuel regulator - return

Water

IM to TB, TB to EACV, EACV to return

The problem:

Ok, so I started it up and initially it ideled erratically. It eventually smoothed out. So the car is now idling perfectly, though low. Reving the car to anything above 1000rpm results in erratic behavior where the engine will rev up and down about 500-1000rpm very rapidly. I will be holding the pedal at what should be 1k, the engine will rev up to 1.5-2k and then drop back down to 1k, then back up, then back down, etc. More pedal just results in it being even more erratic. I have not tried reving it very high as it will likely just backfire.

Please help:

I have checked for vaccuum leaks at all lines and around both gasket areas and have not found any. I have tested fuel pressure and it is good. I am going to start testing sensors, thus far the TPS has the correct resistance rating, more to come.

The ECU throws a code 8, 9, 13 and 14.
If anyone has had a similar experience and can shed some light on the solution please let me know and thank in advance.

hey man i have the same setup. with the z6 manifold but i used the ls throttle body... mine was doing that as well.. i believe code 14 is for eacv... try adusting your throttle screw with the eacv disconnected... also sometimes poeple mix up that and the other connector on the back thats next to it.. you should have a green plug going to the eacv.. give me a sec to check on something for ya

code 8 and 9 are for the 2 other wires you ran to the dizzy... did you maybe mix them up??

slpnz6: Thanks for the reply, I will try the EACV/idle screw thing. When you refer to mixing up the plugs are you talking about the tandem watchamacallit plug that the DPFI uses but the MPFI doesn't? I am pretty sure I have it right but will check that aswell. Regarding the dizzy wires, I thought I may have had it wrong as the yellow and green lines on the blue wires looked so similar but I reversed them to check and there was no difference. Could the fact there was no difference be indicative of something? Can you please verify that my vacuum connections are correct? Thanks again.

slpnz6: big thanks dude, I owe you one. It was related to the EACV. I had the right plug but your suggesting to look there got me looking in the right place where I found that a wire must have gotten severed since I had last checked continuity. Fixed it and it's running like a champ now. Again, big thanks!
