How much power can the ITR LSD handle?
I didn't find much thru searching.
I'm curious on how much power the OEM ITR LSD can handle before it fails.
I'd prefer people with experience with the ITR LSD to comment, and not just people "who've heard" about how much it holds
Torn between the ITR and the Quaife. This will be used on a daily driven boosted GSR putting down approximately 300whp.

I'm using one..and putting over 450whp. So far...been holding up. As long as you don't dump it too hard...it should be fine....Preload before you take off.
I have evperience, not personal experience but a friend's type-r was making close to 400whp and it took a **** on him after about 5k.

....if you don't have one and your lookin to buy, then go with Quaife. You will not out grow it as far as power is concerned, and it comes with a lifetime warrenty.
..if buget is on your mind, and your only lookin to make 300whp, which isn't much, then a type R LSD is more than sufficiant. They can handle 500hp, but its all how you treat it, just like the clutch and tranny. hope this helps.

I have a JDM gsr tranny with OEM LSD and it has made numerous low 11 second passes and been daily driven for 3-4 years. Should be making a 10 second pass very soon with it.
im making 630 whp and 411 wtq and daly drive my car, and my itr lsd its been holding up for about 5 yrs now.
I have no complains about it. Its been so good to me, I wish I could repay it back some how. lol.

This is good stuff. It sounds like the ITR may do it for me.
I doubt i will go past 300-350whp since this is still my daily driver.
I'm not looking to cheap out at all. but budget is a concern. I guess i'm trying to determine whether i need to pay twice the price for a quaife.

It all depends on how you drive it. Some guys with no mechanical sensr/sympathy can break anything. Is that you? If not, then the ITR LSD should do you just fine, I beat the **** out of mine (in both of my B series powered cars) with nary a problem.

No... thats not me. and it sounds like people are putting down a lot of power on the ITR LSD with no problems.

U cant go wrong with a quaife. If u ever decide to make more power, it'll back u up. It can handle abuse and has a lifetime warrany. What happens if u do break ur ITR LSD? U have to take the tranny apart and replace it again, which will probably cost the same or more than just putting a quaife in to begin with. Just my 2 cents!
Im planning to use OEm itr lsd in my 500whp build. I have friends that run 400whp fulltime daily driver and part time track ******. No problems yet.
^^^ Now we're talkin. two boosted daily drivers with the ITR LSD.
I know that I can't go wrong with a quaife. Its the price thats making me question the whole thing.
