those are JE pistons and Total seals... the car ran lean.. as far as i can tell.. knocked.. .

what i don’t understand is all the pistons have the wear at the same place.. .i only can think of one reason.. the motor running too rich causing the pistons to burn leading to this wear.. in other case’s the combustion not burring all the fuel in side the chamber.. and letting some of it burn on the edges of the pistons.. and finally KOOBOOM! Oh well post up what you guys think happened..

hoping to send my block to GE.. for sleeves .. and shoud i re-use JE pistions.. or something else..

the car made 507whp.. on C16 @ CTR performance.. sucks im not going to be able to run this car at the upcoming CMI in July.. ><....

intake sides always melt first cus the material on the edges is realy thin , to much timing maybe , and how much gas was in your tank when this happened ???

most of the gas in the tank when it happened was 91 pump.. and 1 gallon or less of 116 ..

same thing happened to my CP pistons.... i had a full tank of as and a walbro also. wideband never read lean at all.. make sure u get ur head checked out. we think it was hot-spots caused by leaking oil from the valve stem seals.

i can't see the pics, so i can;t diagnose the failure...but i can give one useful piece of advice...

When i got my sleeved B18 from GE i would have only saved $40 by shipping them mine as a core. They usually have them in stock just call down there and see whats up. also when you order your block make sure to order it with raw bores, unless you want to send them your pistons and have them bored to fit. if not then let a trusty local machine shop finish bore and hone

mine looked exactly the same and were caused because of excessive timing

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
NOOOOOOOOOOOO
look close and see what you find wrong with this GE block.. it wont effect me since im going 84mm but if i was going 81 mm this would of been bad deal ...

i got the block back 4 days ago.. took it to my engine bulider he loved it besides the biggrove that was cut into cyl 3 .. he is going to index it and see if all the cylinders are in the right place.. pretty sure they are but after finding a grove that looks likea toolbit...or a machine flaw.. must double check everything...

dam after one year.... i have finally.. finished the motor..

we were messing around with the head.. seems like JG screweed up.. they cut way too much out of the floors of the ports and .. the guy who was doing it must of been cross eyed .. ><... when we clayed the bottom of the intake ports we picked up close to 15-20 more cfm... ill post up my new flow charts for the head.. soon...

yeh i made 507 with the block guard..and stock head studs and yeh those are a set of Ross pistons.. with gas nitride rings and it was machined different plus they are coated.. the machinist tells me.. the only difference between a TOP fuel piston and this one is the size lol..
